    Hello,

    I have some basic questions:

    1. If I have a Pokemon with 2 energy cards below it and the 1st attack requires 1 and the 2nd attack requires 2, can I use the 1st attack or only the 2nd?

    2. When a Pokemon is knock-out it goes to the discard pile together with it's energy cards or alone?

    3. Can I exchange a Basic Pokemon from the bench with one in my hand?

    Thx,

    JM

    1) Either one.
    2) With the cards.
    3) Yes.

That's true, you would need to play a card in order to do that, like a "Switch" Trainer card.

No, a "Switch" is for switch a benched pokemon with the Active one, but you can't switch a card from your hand with a benched pokemon with a switch.

    Hello,

I will assume by majority that I cannot exchange a Basic Pokémon in my hand with one in the bench.

    Thx everyone.

    I have news questions:

    4. Can I remove energy cards from a benched Pokémon to my hand, to other benched Pokémon or to the Active Pokémon?
    5. On the first turn of the first player does he draw a card or not? (I've seen both answers)
    6. When a benched Pokémon (not the Active Pokémon) is knock-out, should the attacker pick a prize card or not?
    7. A Pokémon is knock-out when it reaches it's HP or when it is exceeded? (I've seen both answers)

    Thx everyone,

    JM

    4. No, excluding with the effect of a card, like energy swith, ...
    5. Yes, but 2 years ago, the rule change about it. before then, you don't may draw a card in your first turn, and thats the reason that you see both answers. The first player don't may play any stadiums, supporters or trainers instead.
    6. Yes, he does. every time a opponents's pokemon is KO, the attacker draw a prize. If you KO any of your own pokemons, then must the opponents draw a prize.
    7. Both of them are right. if you reaches the HP, it's enouch, but you can also exceeded the HP.

    Hello,

    Thx.

    Some more questions:

    8. When the Active Pokémon attacks, can he attack only the Active Pokémon of the opponent or also any other benched Pokémon?
    9. I have a Venusaur card which states in it's Poké-BODY that "Each of your Grass Pokémon can't be affected by any Special Conditions." it means for the rest of the entire game?
    10. What is the purpose of the Level number which some cards have on the top left side, near the name?

    Thx.

    8. Normaly, he can only attack the defending pokemon (=opponents active pokemon), excludin,g if the attack say something else.

    9. Yes, a pokebody is always active. Excluding if something block it (like Dialga G LVX)

    10. Nothing, just like the height, weight, .... This are only info over the pokemon, but does nothing in the game.

    8) Depends wut the attack does. It does damage to the active Pokemon unless specified.
    9) Poke-Body's last as long as they aren't negated or no longer in play.
    10) To get n00bs to trade with you. Nothing in game.

You should use an instruction booklet. They come with starter decks.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your help.

    I have some new questions:

    11. The Beldum card states "Search your deck for a Basic Pokémon and put it onto your Bench." . What should one do if the Bench is already full?
    12. The Zubat card states "Flip a coin. If heads, each Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed.". Because the sentence assumes a plural, does this mean the opponent's Active Pokémon and Benched Pokémons?
The same happens with Dark Ariados, where is written "Each Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned.".
I though there was only 1 Defending Pokémon (the opponent's Active Pokémon).

    Thx.

    1) Nothing.

    2) Every Defending Pokémon means all of them, I believe.

    11. Does it say in parentheses, "You cannot use this attack/ability if the bench is full"? If so, you go by the parentheses. You definitely cannot search your deck if the bench is full, no mattter what. EDIT: See SL's answer for a simpler explanation.
    12. No... that wording is there because some game styles allow for each player to have two active Pokemon. Only the opponent's active Pokemon is affected.

    11. You don't must do an attack, so you can also end your turn without an attack, and thats the best option if you bench is full. If you do the attack, you can do nothing, so...

    12. There is also another gameplay where each player have 2 active pokemon. So the card means that in a double battle, the 2 defending pokemons are paralyzed, and in a single battle, only the defending pokemon...

    Hello,

    One more question:

In Roserade, at the end of the 1st attack it reads "Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy card attached to that Pokémon.".

Who chooses which energy card is discarded, the attacker or the defender?

    Thx.

    JM

    the orginal attck text is:

Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy card attached to that Pokémon.

So you did the attack, so you must choose 1 opponent pokemon, and does 30 damage to that pokemon. if you flip heads, you must discard an energy from that pokemon that yo choose for 30 damage.

    Hello,

    Another 2 questions:

    1. If a poisoned Pokémon is knock-out in between turns, that is, after an increase in damage, as required by the rules, should the Opponent take a prize card or not?

    2. Kricketune states "Does 40 damage plus 10 more damage for each Kricketot and each Kricketune you have in play.". Should this count with himself and the below basic Kricketot? If that is the case this attack is always 60+ and not 40+ (which is the value printed in the cardfor that attack).

    Thx.

    JM

    Hello,

    Thank you.

    2. In that case shouldn't that attack always count as 50+? If you count the Kricketune (th attacker) it is always 50+ and never 40+.

    Thx.

    JM
