5th Gen Battle Frontier v5.0

The Battle Frontier has been the competitive battlers in game playground ever since Scott broke through in Emerald. Since then it was re-introduced with the Factory and Tower returning in Platinum which got duplicated in Johto.

So Battle Frontier of no Battle Frontier?

If you're for the Battle Frontier than would you like it to return exactly as it was in Platinum or would you like certain facilities from Emerald re-live their glory days? Or maybe you have some brand new ideas all together. Either way if you think there should be a Battle Frontier what do you think it should like in Generation 5?

Personally I miss Hoenn. I mean I loved the Battle Hall and enjoyed my time in the Pokemon Arcade. Castle had an interesting concept and the other two are mainstays.

I would have a Frontier that looked like

~Battle Tower (but less importance to Trainer Cards and what not)
~Battle Factory
~Battle Hall
~Battle Dome
~Battle Arena
~Battle Castle v2.0

Arena and especially Dome NEED to return for me!! I miss the tournament style and I spent some great hours there.

Unfortunately I'm not too creative but I hope the Castle returns but slightly different. Instead of having a streak you just go into the Castle and battle. After each battle you earn points. Except when you lose you don't lose your streak, you just lose points to your opponent. Depending on your streak (they still have those) you travel up levels but when you lose I guess you still lose your streak but you start over at that level. The higher the level, the more points you earn and the more points you lose. Consecutive losses result in dropping a level.

Anyways that's my ideal Battle Frontier and if you can't tell I do want it to return. What are your ideas for the Frontier? That could include the system and prizes!!

I honestly don't have any ideas for a new Frontier, but I definitely want to see a new one put in these games. Hopefully we don't have to wait for a third version to see it though.

The dome was wonderful, I whittled away so much time there... I love the BF, I'd be fine if the Hoenn one just returned.

Although, If these games are going to still be completely compatible with 4th gen, I think we'll might just get the same Sinnoh/Johto one for the sake of compatibility. But this is a new generation, because of that I'm not so sure...

I'd be fine with that too, except the Pyramid really doesn't need to return. I beat it on my first time through thank goodness and never went back.

Personally I hope that it's more like Hoenn's in the sense that it's on an Island with actual people living on it and such. It's not quite as cool when it's just apart of some town or west of Olivine. So there's another thing I'm hoping for.

Time to ramble about my favorite topic!

First off, I hope they made the frontier an important sidebar project for these versions rather than for the third installment. However, think about this: that's over 600 pokemon with new sets, catering to new rules, and they all have to mesh (depending on if the sets were to be made universal (doubles and all), bar Hall, like platinum. It's not so easy to create. Did they have the time for it? Who knows. They barely edited Platinum's and slapped it on HGSS. (Personally, I think they did that out of pride and time more than anything, but I digress)

So I wouldn't be surprised to see a Battle Tower, it does have history behind it. Would I like to see just a Tower? Of course not, because major tower lovers have already found the perfect exploit to gather thousands (no lie) of wins. However, with a new generation comes new surprises, new things become useless, and other variables, so who knows. Maybe facilities have been pumped with the AI to switch! (which would kill all we rely on, mostly)

I'm excited for the possible teams. I thought fourth generation frontier teams (well, tower really) got boring fast: it was Choice Scarf-Tricker, Steel-type, Dragon-type, once people proved how utterly amazing it was. (2000+, sheesh)

I brought up in another thread that it'd be cool to see them introduce a brand new frontier with these games, and add wings and new sets and what not to the third version. That's a dream though.

I really want the Arcade, or something like it, to continue. It was by far my favorite facility. However, if it wasn't continued, I'd still play it in good ol' Platinum. :P

BACK TO THE TOPIC, Battle Frontier is great, but Im scared they'll do what they did with DPP, bring in just the Tower to start and the Frontier for the 3rd installment. I would rather they always have the full frontier. But the dome MUST return, best one ever, I mean Pyramid and Pike no, but Dome YES!!! The tournament style was great!

I'm in complete agreeance. I mean I didn't mind the pike but in some way or another Tournament style has to return. Dome proved what it could do and I would be fine if it alone was the Battle Frontier.

I would like Gen V's BF to be really unique. I would like to see some previous frontier brains (specificly from emerald) to appear in the game. Well not to battle, but like a visitor, to check out the competition.

So this thread is to speculate and discuss what facilities you want to return in BW and or the third version or what new ideas you have for facilities.

i was never rly into pokemon fights, and found the battle frontier kinda tedious and annoying... but i guess it would be fine to put it into the first 2 games. mayb with the new game system, i'll feel like having a go at it.

The Battle Frontier would be hard to change, as there are already so many different facilities on offer, there are really few ideas to use.

To be honest, I cant pretend to care about a new battle frontier, especially since the Gen IV one, which i was really disappointed with, mostly in terms of layout. The third Gen battle frontier was nice and big, good to have a wander around. It also had more purpose than just battle (smeagle, sudowoodo). For me to actually notice the existance of a battle frontier, in addition to the battle stuff, I would want to see some facilities that were a complete departure from it, like the Pokeathlon and Contests.

While we would all love a battle frontier, I doubt we're going to get it in Black or White; Theres too many rich people getting richer by putting it in Gray (guessing that as the name) and not the pair.

So instead of just a Battle Frontier you'd rather a Pokemon Exposition area. A place where you can run around, do Pokeathlons, Contests and normal Battle Frontier activities. I'm liking that idea, especially since you mention that about running around in Hoenn's Battle Frontier, I was playing my Emerald today and couldn't help but notice that just being in the Battle Frontier was more exciting in Emerald than in Pt/HG/SS. I'd also like to see all the building come back, the people helped add personality to the Battle Frontier and most of all helped build the hype for the Facilities.

I can literally spent hours on end at the factory in every game it's appeared in. It's just a lot of fun trying out new things and getting rewarded for it. The Arcade and Hall were pretty fun too, making for unique experiences. :D
