I never know what to put for the title.

Um, hey guys. I'm very bad with keeping active on forums so hopefully this sticks. I'm ChickenMom. Nice to meet you. I've been on the quest to be the very best like no one ever was since the whole Pokémania first exploded back in 5th grade. Like most kids, I became completely consumed - the games, the cards, the toys, the show. I needed it all! Goodbye pogs, later tamagotchi, and move over furby. The juggernaut of all kids franchises had just hit America and I was all about it.

I will always have special memories playing Red and battling with my friends, but I have to say that Gold and Silver will always be my all-time favorite game. I watched the show until Misty dropped out of the main trio, to be replaced by the girl that I did not bother to learn her name until only a few years ago. I saw the first two films in theaters and although I have pretty strong nostalgia for both, Pokemon 2000 is probably my favorite of all the films. I recently tried to marathon all of them and oh god. I couldn't do it. Some of them are so bad they're painful to watch.

I gotta say, the Pokemon GO craze a few years back was such a thrill. It felt the closest ever to a true Pokémania revival. It made me so, so happy. And how 'bout that Detective Pikachu, right? The Pokémon Company has been really impressing me lately as far injecting the brand back into the mainstream landscape. I mean the fact that you hear newscasters say the words "pokemon" and "pikachu" now is amazing. And during PokeGO hype, there were commercials for local restaurants and car dealerships advertizing that they were pokestops. There was a local ad where the guy was like, "Wow! I caught Eevee! C'mon down to Hampton Mazda/Chevrolet and you could too!" I kid you not. God it's a great time to be alive.

So yeah, um, I don't really have any specific goals besides help in getting rid of all my old pokemon cards but I'll save that for later. Also hoping to get updated on Sword/Shield news even though I don't plan on playing it. (I tried Sun/Moon and that whole "call for help" thing was a total turn-off.)

This hit me in such a real way, haha. I remember all of these so vividly and how everything went by the wayside for Pokemon. We don't often get many veteran Pokemon fans here, but it's so nice to see more people from the 'good ol' days' joining the forum. And with that, I welcome you, Chicken Mom, to PC! :D
