Beginner in rom hacking looking for advice and new friends

Hey guys totally new here I have played a lot of Pokemon Roms and Rom hacks and because of the lockdown I want to do something to kill time and so I thought of making a Pokemon Rom hack can anyone guide me how to start what to do and all the basic stuff I have checked and watched tutorials and I'm thinking about starting with FireRed as the base suggestions and advice are open
