I dunno if this is the right place to post this....

I'm trying to build my team and need a god water poke'mon. I don't like the water starter for diamond (I'm picky) or legendaries like Kyorge. What do you think are the best water poke'mon? (Or just your favorite) This is includes all 493 pokemon (i think thats the current number)

    I eshtrsthrth

    I like:
    Lanturn;Volt Absorb
    Quiet, Thoroughly cunning
    Charge Beam
    Charge
    Confuse Ray
    Thunder

    Ludicolo;Rain Dish
    Relaxed, Somewhat stubborn
    Rain Dance
    Leech Seed
    Giga Drain
    Energy Ball

    for doubles(:

Those water arent great at surviving, easy kills, no great quanities of stats either, but you do what you want(: good luck

I like Empoleon right now because it's a Water/Steel type poke'mon because its not super effective to Electric poke'mon.

    ???
What are you talking about? Lanturn, Ludicolo, Starmie, and Vaporeon are all good pokemon. Ludicolo's stats are a bit low, but combined with rain he still fares pretty well.

I would reccomend Starmie. Has great speed, special attack, and an awesome movepool. Vaporeon is more bulky, however.

I started with the fire monkey pokemon (chumchar? Is that right?), and I hacked the water one with an action replay for my team, it hasn't won a single battle during training tho. I don't use rare candies, just old fashion EXP. So I'm looking for water pokemon other that that one. Good recommendations tho.

Oh, I looked up staryu's moves and found out its genderless. So, Moves can't be passed down to an egg? That bytes. I wanted it to know cosmic power.

There are so many water types in Pokemon, and therefore too many good (by standard...um...standards) water pokemon to list here, at least for lazy me. If you could show me a team that you're working on with an empty slot, then I might be able to help.

Well being as Im soon to be possibly the water gym leader over at the extreme gym...I'll give my 2 cents in here...

I would say Swampert, Gyarados are two of the top tier waters...
Kingdra, ludicolo, and Floatzel are the best swift swimmers in the game. And quilfish can absorb toxic spikes and swift swim explosion...

So with 91 water pokemon, there are many competitive water ones...
Vaporeon makes a nice counter to many, Hugepower Azumarill can be a force to be reckond with...

Sheesh a ton of competitive water pokemon, well except pelipper ;P
