Chespin: Depends how you want to play.

Option A: Offensive, the more standard choice. Picks Adamant (+Attack / -Special Attack), in that case. Would not call Jolly (+Speed / -Special Attack) bad in the generation with easy Power-Up Punch access. Will still be pretty slow, though. Only becomes slower if you use Hammer Arm too.

Option B: Defensive. Warns this being quite slow (in terms of gameplay). Learns Leech Seed, Spiky Shield, and Bulk Up. Selects Seed Bomb or Hammer Arm as the fourth move. Would say Impish (+Defense / -Special Attack) or Careful (+Special Defense / -Special Attack), based on how specialized you want it to be.

Treecko: Assuming a normal playthrough and with the Mega, Adamant (+Attack / -Special Attack). Has a large Special Attack stat, but awful options. Picks up Giga Drain and Energy Ball at level 21 and 37, respectively, as Treecko only. Relies on that, Focus Blast, and Hidden Power until likely postgame (and maybe Leaf Storm at level 63 as Sceptile).

Grabs pretty good options on the physical side, however. Snags Night Slash (with a Heart Scale), Leaf Blade, and X-Scissor all by level-up. Spots Swords Dance, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Dragon Claw, and Brick Break/Power-Up Punch in the TM list (albeit with some of them quite late). Definitely has good sweeping potential with its Speed stat.

Does not really need to be +Speed, for the record. Ties for 30th fastest in Generation 6 as normal Sceptile. Jumps to 8th fastest with the Mega. Runs circles around basically everything an NPC will throw at you.

Could justify a Special-focused Sceptile for postgame stuff. Learns Dragon Pulse from the postgame move tutor. Views mixed as a little pointless outside of player-versus-player stuff.
