Pegiunpal, Sharpedo and Manaphy can be beaten by Pikachu, don't EVER underestimate that little yellow mouse !

You're overestimating it, RunForSix. Pikachu sucks, even with a Light Ball.
Octillery is the best, I suppose; it's the Swiss Army Knife of Pokemon, being a Water-type that can learn Flamethrower.

Pikachu (or any Electric type) can ebat Octillery, too. YOU'RE overestimating it

Octillery has better stats overall than Pikachu. Pikachu has such bad defenses [30 base in Defense and 40 base in Special Defense, WTF] that even if it were EV-trained and had high IVs and the right Nature, it would fall immediately to any EV-trained, right Natured, high IV Octillery [105 base in both offensive stats]. As in, it fails in battles.
Go with Raichu; that actually poses a threat to stuff.

I make a planned team and I try to catch at least 6 different types. To me, Pikachu is one of the catchable Electric types worth raising to me

Evolve it into Raichu and you are correct. Pikachu has crappy stats; it's only redeeming quality is it's Speed, but what's it going to do with it?

Like you said, ANY Pokemon can ebat ANY other Pokemon, so Pikachu can beat Pokemon like Raichu

No...Raichu can beat Pikachu with it's better Speed and better Special Attack. And better everything else. Even in-game, I don't think a Pikachu is going to be beating a Raichu of the same level with a half-decent moveset.

I can, in LeafGreen, I beat Lt. Surge's Raichu, with Pikachu ! And it was 3 levels stronger and I still beat it !

Really, that's just having the Ash mentality. If you truely want success, you need to evolve that pikachu, but lon--wanderer, let's not call people noobs. I always use Croconaw instead of Feraligatr. You'd be amazed at how well it can do. After Croconaw, my fav pokemon:
1. Croconaw!
2. Kingdra, the best dragon
3. Steelix
4. Scizor
5. Hypno
6. Poliwrath
7. Arcanine
8. Mewtwo
9. Umbreon
10. Blastoise
After steelix they're in no particular order, but go Croconaw!
EDIT: About Lt. Surge's Raichu, it is the AI. My dog could be the E4. Really, ingame trainers are worse than...my little sis, and she puts Iron Tail on milotic.

I only evolve a Pikachu to get Raichu's data, every game I've Played, I've caught a Pikachu and have used it in my ingame team

Pikachu is slow so he gets mauled before he can use that monstrous Sp atk with light ball. Mewtwo is incredibly hard to wall. Blissey says hi to focus punch..

If your going by stats Tryannitar has the best stats probabley with Metagross in second but because of Tryannitars 4x weakness to fighting. Metagross takes the cake in stats and weaknesses.
But you could make arguments for Blissey, Dragonite/Salamence/Garchomp, Togekiss....etc.
In Red and Blue (not FireRed and LeafGreen) Cloyster was the best(when special was all one stat), Jinx was pretty good too.

why is everyone saying that Pikachu sucks? Pikachu owns, and if u evolve Pikachu strait away, then it doesn't learn any more of it's attacks, and 1 more thing... PIKACHU FTW!
