On the side of Wi-Fi, I'd think making Huin City become the Wi-Fi plaza. Numerous servers at once and about 150 people on a server.

I am almost positive that the DS couldn't handle that. If it could, it would most likely be kicking people out all the time and freezing up. Maybe if that was the online feature involving us transporting our save files.

for the character customization, do you mean for only multiplayer? I don't mind looking like everyone else if i don't see them...

If they implemented character customization, I don't see why it couldn't be included for both.

What about the third game rumoured for the 3DS? That'd be cool, though. A THIRD game, like CRYSTAL!
