Suggestion: Blog Comment Notification?

    I noticed I do not get notified when someone posts on my blog. I would like to read the comments on the blogs I submit very much.

    What are your opinions?

    I didn't put this in the supporter forum..because..I want staff to read it? Sorry, I am half-asleep. ;;
     
    I want it to happen, too. (as my thread here shows) and it would be cool. Also, if our subscribed blogs could get notifications (not e-mail) that would be nice too.

    Then there are email notifications which is more of a nuisance. It just fills up your inbox (in my case, spam box) with notifications but you have no way of knowing they're there unless you have a space-taking toolbar or a certain messenger. ;;

    I don't see any harm in having a PC notification system for blogs (I'd rather not have to check my email just to see if my blog was commented on).

    But, I do support this as well. It would be helpful to get a notification for blog comments.
     
    But what about the popular blog people? Their notification box would get fatter than Wal-mart and Walt Disney combined 0.o'

    It should be adjustable to be on or off if this is done.

    It's not like they have to read all of them. They just have to go to their blog for a second to get all the notifications all away.

    That very same thing applies to staff and their VMs/PMs. If you get a lot of VMs all at once and you don't want to reply, all you have to do is load your profile then leave.
     
    I support this but like others have stated, I think people would be getting too many notifications if they had a popular blog. I mean, some blogs get 20+ comments in minutes. :[
     
    Some of them are major popular. Especially blogs about ranting/debating which people seem to be posting more now.

    And what if they visited their blog, then left, then got like, 10 more? They'd have to go back and forth.

    They don't have to get rid of the notifications before doing anything else.
     
    Yeah but when they do get rid of the notifications then more could just keep coming and it'd get hectic. Still, I agree.
     
    That could be said for visitor messages, though. There happens to be a notification for them and some people can get a mass load of them moment after moment, after visiting their own profile for a brief moment, all notifications involving VMs would disappear, though they may just as well keep coming. This has happened to me various times in the past and I'm not really put off by that; but VM notifications remain regardless of that, so I personally believe that point is a tad bit flimsy.

    I always liked the thought of blog comment notifications, at times I actually forget to look at commentary and have to be bothered to check myself, but to actually acknowledge first hand that somebody commented with a notification actually makes me feel kinda good.
     
    Hmmm, I guess it could work to have something like that in the blog system. It doesn't matter to me because I check my blog pretty much everyday. And I can see someone comment on it, so yeah. It will work for everyone else, but for me...nah. But do whatever you wish. I turned off e-mail notifications because it causes a lot of messages in my inbox and that is a big mess to clean up.

    I am all for the idea of this, but it doesn't concern me.

    That, pretty much. xD

    I've always wanted notifications for blog comments. Even if certain people on here DO get 90384 comments in ten minutes, at least.. they'd feel loved? XD; I dunno, but being notified would be awesome. I know sometimes people comment on older blog enteries, I occasionally check my older enteries to find that they have unread comments, and I'm like.. "... D; whoops.."
