I have played Pokemon since the series first released, and I am looking for other people who are out of school and miss playing the older games. HG and SS are probably my favorite games in the series, with FR and LG in a close second. I just within the last year got back into the series, and I am really wanting to find some people that, like me, can't seem to pull away from 3rd and 4th gen.
I own all the GBA and DS games, and in addition have an Acekard loaded with all those games. I was thinking if anyone else here had a similar setup, we could trade Pokemon legitimately over email ^^. Even if you do not have the ability or desire to play on roms and trade, it would be fun to find some people who are also playing 3rd/4th gen right now. I love sharing recent encounters and team compositions! Even if you would just like to reminisce, let me know! I will be getting a 3DS later this year, and all 4 of the new games, but my heart and mind will always be with 3rd and 4th gen!

Yay for more longtime Pokemon fans! I can easily tell you are looking forward to meeting new friends around here, and I'll say you will be in for a treat. Welcome to you as well, Wraithe!

So a 3rd and 4th Gen fan? Pretty solid taste on your end there, both Fire Red/Leaf Green and Heart Gold/Soul Silver so it appears you have quite the taste in remakes, maybe this means you might end up loving Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire as well, but then again both Kanto and Johto have a stronger fanbase so it can be hard not wanting to let go of those two. Both the Advance Generation and Fourth Generation sections should have topics you will be interested in, and the threads are all tagged for your convenience.

Hopefully that will keep you active for a while, and I'm sure you will make some new friends around as you keep posting and staying active. Well, I'll see you around and don't hesitate to ask the staff if you need assistance, but yeah have fun and take care!

Thank you very much for the fast and friendly reply. I love the image in your signature, maybe you can fill me in on how to set one up in the future =D.

As for my taste, it is rather biased, as 1st and 2nd gen are simply when I was most devoted to the series. I was really upset when I found out they shut down the wifi features of the DS a while back. Oh well, need to find some new friends in the Colorado area I guess, haha.

As for you Hikamaru, what generation are you most fond of?

I love all the generations, but 5th Gen is the one that holds the most special place in my heart. I really loved the unique approach they went with this generation, such as having actual sequels and of course, giving us some of the most interesting characters in the series.

I am sad to say I only played B and W for a few hours. It is not that I didn't like them, just that when they came out my life was in some disarray.
I have around 300 hours between HG and SS right now, and I have so much I wish to do in those two alone that I am not sure 1000 hours will even be enough.
I am quite looking forward to getting around to D, P, Pt, B, W, B2 and W2 sometime soon. I really want to finish my Pokedex in SS first though, which means I will most likely need to go back to R and S before I move on to 5th gen.

I will definitely let you know what I think of them once I beat them though. =)

B/W & B/W 2 were really fun games, but Jhoto is the region that holds my heart. I also loved HG/SS! Unfortunately I had to sell my copies of those...loved them so much, were a lot of fun. I really love the new games though, because of the global features. They make it easy to get distracted from just getting through the story though... and welcome to PC! I'm new too, haha.

It is nice to see fellow newcomers. =)
    Thanks for the reply!

I did briefly play X and Y, and I will admit the global features blew me away. How quickly I could just trade with a random player. Amazing. Never been easier to collect starters.
I do wish they hadn't gone with the 3D graphics though. I prefer 2D even though it is awesome having animated Pokemon finally.

I'm a little split - I like the 3D graphics, but I did really love the 2D. I will say that I love the different views/camera angles that we've gotten though, and the 3D seems to have contributed to that a fair bit...especially in ORAS, the places just seem so much more real. Then again, it's been a long time since the originals!
