    Hello!

I've always been on/off of pokemon in my life, usually playing it every once in a while and being apart of the fandom enough to get hyped for new releases, but I started getting into challenge runs of the games and that really kicked me off into playing more and more. I also had a brief stint of competitive ladder pokemon during SW/SH which carried me over to challenge runs. I enjoy the strategy!
I'm also a trading card nerd, and my brother got into the card game so that pulled me in, too

And, thank you! I look forward to being around!

Hello there, and welcome to the PC! Glad to have you here!

Do you have a favorite Pokemon? Favorite Typing?

    Hello!
My favorite pokemon is definitely Nihilego, although I am incredibly partial to all the bug type pokemon since bug is my favorite type. I love Beedrill!
I am a fan of flying types though, because of my love of birds.

Neat-o! Are the Gen 7 games your favorite then?
Beedrill's one of my favorite Bug Types as well, such a great design!

If you are into challenges, the Challenges section is there for you.
For the TCG, you might want to check the Pokémon Trading Card Game section.
I have some Bug and Flying types among my favourites, like Volcarona and Braviary!

What's your favorite Flying Type Pokemon?

The gen7 games are a HUGE personal favorite, yes. Critically, I think the gen5 games are the best in the series, but I have a great attachment to Alola and its experiences.
And, favorite flying type is a hard choice, but I'd have to say Oricorio or Vivillon. I love their gimmicks and I find it interesting that Oricorio changes types and utility in each form, and how Vivillon changes appearance depending on regions.

    Hello!

Do you like the Ultra Beasts in general, or is it just Nihilego for you?

Are there any regional forms you like more than their original?

I love the concept of Ultra Beats. Alola changes a lot of the traditional routes that Pokemon takes, and I think the change was needed and important for the future of Pokemon games. I'm glad they went experimental with "alien" Pokemon (beyond that of Clefairy or Beeheeyem). Blacephelon is my other fav UB, I like the jester imagery and love how fireworks are incorporated into its design and actions.

As for regional varients, the Corsola line from Galar is amazing. Similarly, I love Paldea's convergent evolutionary lines, like Tentacool's land counterpart.

I merged your two posts together for you, but in the future, all you need to do to respond to multiple people at once is to hit the 'Respond' button on all the posts you want to reply to.

I haven't gone far enough into Gen 7 to say, but I do really like Gen 5!
Oricorio's a cool Pokemon that I've wanted to have on a Team for a while, and I very luckily found a shiny Vivillon at the start of my second play-through of Scarlet!
    What's your favorite Vivillon pattern?

Thank you for merging the posts, I'll keep that in mind.
I've found that the sheer amount of pokemon you can encounter in Scarlet / Violet make it easier to find shinies. Something to do with the rate of pokemon spawns means the 1 in whatever amount shinies spawn in is more common...I bumped into two in a row! Drifloon and Rolycoly. But maybe that's just me.

Also, the "modern" pattern is the one native to me, so I am fond of it. But the "ocean" pattern is my favorite.

    Yep!

I just wish S/V gave more indication of a shiny being present. Who knows how many shinies get passed by just because their colors don't look all that different...

Those are both beautiful Vivillon patterns! I'd say the Polar pattern is my favorite.

I totally agree. There should be some audio indicator when a shiny spawns. I am pretty sure they do that in Let's Go, right? Whenever a shiny spawns it makes a sparkle noise....which should happen whether or not it was present in LGPE. I'm actually colorblind, so sometimes it makes it harder for me to see shiny pokemon.

All the Vivillon patterns are great. I love when underrated pokemon get the support they need...every pokemon is someones favorite, after all !

I've read that Legends Arceus also had a way to identify shiny Pokemon in the overworld, I have a hard time believing that S/V couldn't have the same features as the older switch games. Out of curiosity, are you partially or fully colorblind?

Yep! Though I feel kinda bad for the people who have less popular favorite Pokemon, cause it seems like those don't get much attention from Game Freak these days...

Never played Legends Arceus, so I wouldn't know, but it probably has something to do with SV and Arceus being in development at the same time. If the next games are similar in style, they'll probably have the feature.
I'm not fully colorblind, thankfully. But I am red/green colorblind.

I hope they add it to S/V with the DLC, it would certainly be a nice feature.
Is it full red/green color blindness, or just partial?
Also, what Gens of Pokemon have you played before?

I don't fully know. I was diagnosed with colorblindess at a very young age and just kinda accepted it. Red and green is what I usually struggle with, but it usually is colors of a similar saturation or shade that trip me up. Blues and purples, if light or dark enough, I can mistake for one another, for example.

I have experience with every pokemon gen. Like I mentioned before, 7 and 5 are my favorite, while gen 2 is my least favorite (for the common reasons people dislike Johto...level curves, lack of Johto ace pokemon, etc.).
Although the most fun I've ever had with a game was my first nuzlocke on pokemn Platinum.

I can imagine how that would make things like shiny hunting Pokemon that look almost no different from their base colors extremely difficult.
On top of all the other issues color blindness brings of course.

I've also played every Gen, though I haven't gone that far into 7 as I mentioned earlier. 8 is my favorite, 5 is my second (though I loved Crystal as well), the remakes of 2 are my least favorite.
You do Nuzlockes? Cool! Did you win that one you did of Platinum?

Although I can't see their normal colors to confirm or deny, I'm sure there are plenty of shinies whose color palette looks better through my colorblind lens. Who knows.
I love challenge runs and nuzlockes! I was just reading through the challenges forums and thinking about posting in the Hall of Fame thread to document my runs. I think I'll wait to finish the one I'm on now first though. And, yes! Although it was a tough finish, especially so considering my unnatural team, I did finish the main and post-game. I had my starter Torterra (my favorite Sinnoh starter), Glaceon, Vespiquen, Golduck, Houndoom, and a Magnezone. At the end of it I wanted to use pokemon I loved and had never used before, so I pumped my team full of tm's and managed to scrape a victory out of Cynthia primarily with my Glaceon's toxic / blizzard stall. It was super exciting to use a Vespiquen, too!

    I sertainly hope so! 👍
You should definitely do that when you're done with your challenge! I'm sure you'll fit in quite well in that section!
Congratulations on the very tough win! Platinum is by no means an easy game, so winning a Nuzlocke of it shows great skill.
Nice Team by the way, really good Type coverage.
What challenge are you working on now?
