I want to breed some Totodile, but don't know how. My totodile is a male, and I need a female water type for this to supposedly work. Will the egg hatch as a Totodile or will it come out like its mother who is not a Totodile?

It would come out as the mother's Pokemon. You could also use a Ditto to breed and the offspring would be a Totodile.

The offspring will always be the same gender as the female, meaning that totodile with another Pokemon in its egg group won't produce another Totodile. Luckily though there is a way around this - breeding anything with a Ditto gives that 'anything' as the offspring, so breed a Totodile with a Ditto to get more Totodiles. (You can catch Ditto on route 34 - same as the day care).
