Based on the new book Brisingr, I bring you a new Platinum team taht has shocked the Smogon ladder out of the gate.

    Roran (Breloom) @ Toxic Orb
    Jolly Nature
    252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Spore
    Stone Edge
    Subsitute
    Focus Punch

Named Roran for his heavy hammer-like blows, Breloom is a terrorizer as a lead. Stone Ede gives me better coverage than Seed Bomb, so Gengar won't wall me on a switch.

    Saphira (Kingdra) @ Life Orb
    Adamant Nature
    252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Dragon Dance
    Waterfall
    Return
    Outrage

Well, Saphira is a blue dragon so... yeah. This set was recommended to me by Dark_Azelf over my mized Kingdra, and it is plain nasty. DD on switches, kill with amazing coverage.

    Arya(Skymin) @ Life Orb
    Timid Nature
    252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Seed Flare
    Earth Power
    Quick Attack
    Air Slash

All Skymin needs is pointy earsw to be this elf. Timid Nature over Modest because 517 Sp. Attk w/ EVs is overkill already. Double STAB with Air LSash and Seed Flare, EP for coverage, and Quick Attack for the finish.

    Sloan (Heatran) @ Choice Scarf
    Timid Nature
    252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Earth Power
    Fire Blast
    Dragon Pulse
    Will-O-Wisp

Heatran and Sloan only have one thing in common: their horrific looks *shot* Heatran tears up the metagame as a revenge killer, and cripples walls with Will-O-Wisp.

    Thorn(Infernape) @ Life Orb
    Naive Nature
    232 Spe/ 252 Spa/ 24 Atk

    HP Ice
    Grass Knot
    Flamethrower
    Close Combat

Thorn is a terrorizing dragon that dominates on both sides of offense. So does an all-out Mixape, killing Bliss and Lax in one shot with Close Combat, stopping main threats to this team with Flamethrower, and added on moves to cover himself.

    Shruikan (Salamence) @ Choice Specs
    Modest Nature
    252 SPa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Hydro Pump
    Dragon Pulse
    Fire Blast
    Draco Meteor

Shruikan is a poor dragon forced to do something he doesn't want to do, even htough it is purely awesome. Same goes for Specsmence, who would prefer a DD and LO set. This set hitsjust as hard, nearly hiting 500 sp.atk. Draco Meteor and Dragon Pulse are deadly, but I'm considering swapping Dragon Pulse for HP Flying. Then again, I Fire Blast.

    Edits to the story:
    - Thorn went back to Uru'baen to change around his speed and attack EVs to the normal level.

    Roran (Breloom) @ Toxic Orb
    Jolly Nature
    252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Spore
    Stone Edge / Leech Seed
    Subsitute
    Focus Punch

I prefer Leech Seed with jolly just for the speed on sub seeding, otherwise just use adamant.

Saphira (Kingdra) @ Life Orb / Lum Berry
    Adamant Nature
    252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Dragon Dance
    Waterfall
    Return
    Outrage

This thing is evil, everyone is weak to it lol .

You can consider Lum Berry since for some reason i prefer not getting statused especially but cool =p.

Arya(Skymin) @ Life Orb / Expert Belt / Wide Lense
    Timid Nature
    252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Seed Flare
    Earth Power
Hidden power Ice / Hidden power Fire / Substitute / Grass Whistle
    Air Slash

    Quick Attack is....Blegh.

Consider Hidden power Ice to hit Zapdos, Hidden power Fire to hit floaty steels. Expert Belt and Sub is nice to stop revenge killing and status. Grass Whistle can just shut down counters, you can use Wide Lense with this.

    Sloan (Heatran) @ Choice Scarf
    Timid Nature
    252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Earth Power
    Fire Blast
    Dragon Pulse
    Will-O-Wisp

    <3

    Thorn(Infernape) @ Life Orb
    Naive Nature
    232 Spe/ 252 Spa/ 24 Atk

    HP Ice
    Grass Knot
    Flamethrower / Fire Blast
    Close Combat

Switch your sp.attack and speed around, Infernape is in its own speed tier so does not need to max speed. You also need to do as much damage as possible without Nasty Plot, which is an excellent reason to consider Fire Blast.

    Shruikan (Salamence) @ Choice Specs
    Modest Nature
    252 SPa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Hydro Pump
    Dragon Pulse
    Heat Wave
    Draco Meteor

Sure, but why Heat Wave >> Flamethrower / Fire Blast 0_o. Just for the "Lulz dis r n00 muve" experience factor? LOL

    Comments in bold

Breloom is a bad lead btw with that set. There is an Anti Lead set which at least would do something > your current one as a lead.

    Breloom@Toxic Orb
    248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Spore
    - Protect
    - Mach Punch
    - Seed Bomb

Lets you scout and shut down scarf lead Sleep Leads ^_^. Mach puch also helps your horrific t-tar weak >_<.

I actually found Jolly Breloom to be pretty efficient with that moveset as a lead, since it already outspeeds most scarf sleepers (minus Rose and Gar) and can KO pretty fast. I'm not being adamant about change, so I'll test it out after my trig is done.

Actually, Quick Attack on Skymin can be somewhat useful. As ABYAY has said in a different thread (the platinum discussions one that was locked) Quick Attack saves Skymin from stuff that outspeeds it that lacks priority.

Heat Wave does more than F-Thrower and I think has a higher BP than Fire Blast. I'll have to check on that though.

Heat Wave's power advantage over Flamethrower is almost negligible (100 BP vs 95 BP).

LOL just realized that. Beat me to the post Fabian T_T

Fire Blast has 20 higher BP, so I'll change it to that.

Yeah, Heat Wave is sort of pointless, as it has same PP as Fire Blast, and doesnt really hit harder. If you're gunna use something less then 100 acc., might as well just use the 85 acc one. Other then that, your team looks just fine, but watch out for other scarftran, as it runs through this.

It's a pretty good team (I hate skymin if I were in charge of smogon I'd hurl that thing straight to the top of the suspect ladder). I think it could use a rapid spinner though. 2 of your pokes take 25% from SR, Salamence is immune to Spikes but takes hard damage from SR, and only Breloom resists Toxic Spikes while taking minimal damage from SR. I'm going to suggest Donphan since you don't have anything of a real Physical Wall, and Donphan makes a great TTar counter who as D_A (I shorten everything :)) mentioned, destroys your team.

I am pretty weak to Tar, Tran, and agiligross, but so far, I haven't run into so much trouble with them. Many ppl are starting to sue Modest Scarftran on smogon ladder for some reason 0_0.

Romo, I'm trying to use an offensive team, so Donphan wouldnt work so much. Besides, it pretty much dies to everything I am weak too, which doesnt help much. I could opt for LO Star over Ape or Mence, that would also help with me weakness to Tran.

Umm, Starmie gets 2hko'd by Heatran's F-Blast with SR up lol.

Cant you just switch in Kingdra + your own Heatran on foe Heatran and predict accordingly for Dragon Pulses and Earth powers respectively ?

true to that. I've been working with breloom anti-lead, and its opened me up a lot more to tar, since its forced to come in a lot after it starts things off. For now, I'm sticking with my old set.

But....That makes no sense what so ever.

How is having a priority move that is 4x effective and investing hp ev's "opening you up to t-tar more" =/.

As of now it 6-0's you, so i suggest you fix it one way or another. Mach punch on Loom or use Physical ape and use Mach punch on that. Anything else and you have to go out your way and replace members to deal with tar.

I'm going to try a Breloom set that we might settle on.

    Breloom @ Toxic Orb
    Adamant Nature
    Poison Heal
    252 ATK/ 132 Spe/ 120 HP

    Spore
    Mach Punch
    Stone Edge
    Focus Punch

Gives me sporepunching and priority, and allows me to put some fast spores on pokes that don't scarf sleep yet outspeed Loom otherwise.
