4th Gen Buying D/P or Pt

I would buy either Diamond or Pearl, and then get platinum, because platinum is a bit different from the others.

Na, I'm 14. My parents are just cheapskates though and never give me any money.

Cheapskates? Or maybe if you want to earn some money you should ask them if you could do some work around the house for it.

Teenagers these days....... (lol i'm 17.......)

Anyway I have Diamond and Platinum, and I breezed through Diamond in about 8 hours (Mainly because I didn't talk to a bunch of people.).

However Platinum lasted much longer because when I realized how different the storyline was, I talked to everyone to see what's different. On top of that are the differences everyone mentioned.

The one thing I didn't like was that in the plaza you can't ask your own questions, you could only choose to ask someone a predetermined set of questions, and the same ones get boring after a while. They should of made it so you can set up your own questions using the words it lets you use in interviews, and they should give you more words to use.

$10? I thought it was $5. Oh well, Platinum is worth it for me. A wider selection of Pokemon to choose from from the beginning to the end (save for a few that you can easily get from trades like Murkrow). And the Battle Frontier is nice too.

Platinum is better than both Diamond and Pearl. There are many new features, some entirely new, others made better that include:

  • Surfing is now much faster.

I never noticed this, but that would be nicer. :D

Platinum. You can catch both Palkia and Dialga as opposed to just Dialga/Palkia (according to version).

Also, the Legendary Trio of Kanto is available (Zapods, Moltres, Articuno).

All three games are exsquisite... actually, though, I just bought Platinum yesterday... hooray for winning $200 at bingo, and I find it to be a bit more appealing. I especially like Eterna Forest in Platinum, but really, any one of the games is worth it. But if you like added features and lots of other special junk, go for Platinum, otherwise, Diamond or Pearl should suffice.

I personally think Platinum is way, waay better. Definately worth the $10 bucks.
Reasons:
-I've played Diamond on a ROM and Platinum on the DS. Diamond.. ugh. SO SLOOOOW!!! Platinum is just waaay better in that regard.
- Better/longer storyline
- Haxxors Frontier (If you like that - I only do it because I can't use PokeSav so I kinda have to..)
- Other pokemon formes
- WiFi Events from now on will mostly be for Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver only I believe.
- You can catch both Dialga and Palkia if the Sinnoh legends interests you. Personally, noone of them except Azelf interests me. XD

To sum it all up, Platinum is simply better than D/P. Just like Emerald was a billion times better than Ruby & Sapphire. In my opinion at least.
