Hello everyone˜ This is Capi's icon gallery. Feel free to look around and such. You can take these icons if you wish, but you need to ask for my permission first, and give credit. I use GIMP, and I get my images from LJ and Veer. Textures are from LJ too.

I like the flowers icon because they look fine and the colouring is spot on. The coffee one looks really weird because there is a black stripe on top of it, if you get rid of it then it will look alright. The rest are pretty much average and okay, you're doing well for a beginner on Gimp ;).

 

[THIRTY-SIX]

Coffee is actually the best of the four. Colours look the most natural. Shame about the black line though.

I think you should do the Cupcake one, Brighter, and just have random colour streaks across it,


OR like, invert half of the image, to make a negative cupcake ^^

For a GIMP beginner, you're really good. I know I liek ttly fail'd at teh GIMP when I first began. Now I just have free Photoshop lololol

Ugh, I remember the GIMP days. I got PS for free eventually, too. XD You're really good, actually. I like the pictures you used. The "flowers" one has to be my favourite, it's all sparklyy. ♥

I think the pencils one would look better if there weren't the black at the bottom, it takes away from the colour in the center. And also be aware of the Rule of Thirds. It is usually for photos but sometimes I use it in my artwork and graphics. Just depends on what you like.

Overall, they're awesome (like better than I could do) and I wanna see more. :D

D: Curse you people and your free Photoshop! Oh, and thank you for the link Aorio˜ I added a new version of coffee, without the black line. It's slightly lighter, because I didn't use the black line texture.

Ah, v2 of the coffee one is simply amazing. Personally I liked the black part, but it would have looked better to the side or bottom. But now it just looks way better.

If you do this good on GIMP, you don't need photoshop. XDD;

But they're lovely icons~ I never had the knack of making icons myself. :\

@Aizuke: Lol, thank you. xD Well, I would like Photoshop, because it has selective colouring and that. I think I'm moer of an icon person, because they take less time to make, and I'm lazy like that. But thank you˜

I've only just started making icons in gimp too!
Its very fun. : D But I can't find any HQ pictures of
the people I want icons of. : (
I love the cupcake one, but the coffee one wins it in my opinion. ^^​
