Can a Trainer get some help?

I just picked up Soul Silver to pretty much relive my childhood and got into something WAY bigger than I expected. I'm trying to get into this, but I'm not to familiar with the terminology and such.

Anyone have any Give Away's for a Beginning Trainer?
Or Extra events for people who Missed them?

I don't have much of anything.
Help?
