I just heard about it and I want to know IF it's possible to use it to hack a rom or rather transfer the game contents over to a new project? Is trying to do that better in the long run for a rom hack?

I think you're confused. You mention DevKitPro but you probably mean decomps as a whole, not just devkit?

I've asked the same question in the Decomps section and they said that it was more suited for this section.
But I probably should have phrased my question better. I just want to know from people that have used both the hack tools and DevKitPro which one was better in the long term.
