can you make a pokemon toy section?

    I came here to look if there was a place where people talk a lot about collecting pokemon toys and I don't see one (maybe I'm blind) but I think it would be a cool thing to add to the forum.
     
    From my point of view as just a member here, I don't think it'd be worth it to make a whole section dedicated to just the Pokemon toys. But what does come to my mind is that you could make a topic on Pokemon toys/merchandise in the Pokemon General board(the board that isn't about the games.)
     
    There's a Plushie Club in Other Clubs, and although it encompasses all types of plushies, most people in there have a great collection of Pokemon plushies, myself included. :) I'd recommend joining!
     
    Yeah, we get a thread about merchandise from time to time in Pokemon General and it never really lasts more than a few pages before dying off from lack of interest. :( If that changes in the future, we'd gladly add a section for it so long as there's demand but for now just stick to Pokemon General.
     
    I dunno Lighting. I love pokemon toys and I've never heard of this thread. I think having it's own section would catch the eyes of people that normally wouldn't go into general.

    There is a forum that is entirely dedicated to toys from video games. I bet we could have a section for toys, or maybe a sub section at least.
     
    I was gonna say, there's been a few disscussion threads over in Pokémon General about Merchandise and figurines, but they die all too easy.

    There are also forums entirely dedicated to meteorology or geology or even specific bands but we don't have sections for those, they just wouldn't work here - they're much more of a specialist subject than the forums that we currently have which are largely pretty broad/general forums. In a similar vein, I think something like plushie collecting would also be a somewhat specialist area of the Pokémon fandom when it comes to generating lots of discussion, so it'd need a lot of prior interest and evidence before being added as a forum, which it arguably doesn't have. I reckon your best bets are most likely either posting threads in Pokémon General about Pokémon toys to see if they actually do gather interest, or you could even create a club for plushie/toy lovers in Pokémon Clubs, but as things stand at the moment there really doesn't seem like enough interest to warrant the creation of a whole forum/sub-forum for this topic.

    Bummer... I was looking forward to that meteorology section =/ No I was just trying to point out that it isn't the most boring topic ever. There are people out there that are interested in it.
     
    Not enough interested, though. If there's not enough to keep just one thread afloat, there definitely aren't enough to keep a whole subforum up.

    Not enough people though. Sure, you may have a few people who would take it seriously, but it's just not enough to create a new sub-forum for, IMO. I might as well go start my own cooking forums, then make a steamed broccoli sub-forum. Yes, some people do like it, but we have main categories that encompass that subject entirely.
     
    The way PC works for this kind of thing is if there is sufficient activity related to that topic, the forum will be created. It doesn't work by creating forums and hoping the interest pops up, unfortunately. If there isn't a thread on Pokemon merchandise in Pokemon General right now (I don't think there is but I'm not 100% on that), it can always be made, or any threads on merchandise. Threads like "how much money have you spent on merchandise", "What part of the franchise do you spend the most money on", "have you ever gotten limited edition merch", "would you hide Pokemon merch if certain people came to your residence", etc. If Pokemon General has a lot of people specifically making threads on/discussing merchandise, a section would definitely be considered. So if you want one, your job would be to make threads on it in PG and try to get people interested :)
     
    How about one for the pokemon collection's?
     
    Then you could make a thread to post pictures and talk about your collection. There doesn't need to be a subforum for Pokemon collections. That's way too specific. :/
     
    Sorry, that's what I meant but didn't put it in there, there's no need for a sub forum at all.
