I myself am solely interested in Pokemon Essentials as a mapmaking tool for a PTU game I wish to run. Because of this I was wondering if there is any way I can take the tilesets and port them over to VX Ace or MV, as I have both of those, but I do not wish to buy XP just to make these maps.

I understand that the systems for map making are different in all of these so if worse comes to worse, I will likely pay for XP to get access to the tileset. I wanted to ask first though, just so I don't end up wasting money.

The tilesets are just pictures, every tile is 32x32 pixels. You can find tons of tilesets for free online, no need to get RMXP.
