The closest thing to a car wreck that I've ever experienced was when I was sitting in a car in a parking lot, and this big SUV accidentally backed into the front of it. I was by myself, totally off in my own little world drawing, so it really freaked me out for a minute! Thankfully, since the car was going really slow no damage was caused, and the lady who was driving was very nice and apologized about it, so everything turned out fine.
However, my grandmother was in a really, really bad car wreck when I was little. It was just a miracle that she ended up surviving--she had a really bad head injury and it took her a long time to recover from it. She couldn't even speak for several months because of the damage. My mom and I were living in Hawaii at the time, and we moved back here to be with her and the rest of the family. I don't remember any of it, but it had to have been very scary for everyone.
Thankfully, though, she recovered and is perfectly normal now! She still has a few problems (She can't hear quite as well, and it didn't help her athritis) but overall she's fine. We're just so glad that she's alive now. ^_^
Oh yeah, and one of my cousins has also been in a couple of wrecks. One time, the car actually rolled over, so it must have been scary! He was still okay, though. Hopefully, no one else in my family will ever be in another wreck like that... I know that they're all very safe drivers, but you never know what can happen.
