No, it was because of Yukito's other self. Syaoran (and Sakura, to a lesser extent?) was just attracted to the magical powers in him. o.o

Syaoran was attracted to him because his magic power comes from the moon and so does Syaoran's.

Sakura was because he was similar to her father.
