    my pokemon are levels 39-42 and i went through the elite 4 like a breeze but i couldnt even manage to beta lances first dragonite,Should i trade over some 50+ pokemon from diamond or just do it fair and train my pokemon in victory road?

    And it depends on your gaming style; do you want to be cheap and trade in Pokemon from another game to defeat the trainer, or do you want to grind and feel accomplished after you defeat Lance with HGSS-based Pokemon?

    Indeed. If I were you I'd just train abit more but it is up to you and your preferences.
