"Cheers on Castaways Isle!" Episode Discussion

This episode wasn't that bad. it was just regular filler. My ELoT:

- Erm....wut?
- ...seriously, what?
- A flashback? Seriously, a FLASHBACK?
- Pikachu on the cogs reminds me of Togepi on the log in the short movie XD
- They see a Pikachu and Piplup and don't put it together?
- And Pikachu doesn't even TRY to attack James?
- If that tube was waterproof, wouldn't it be airproof as well? They'd run out of air in minutes.
- Hooray, Piplup is in pain! 8D
- Piplup, you fat, greedy little moocher.
- Random Probopass FTW!
- Piplup ate five apples in a row? He's gonna be sorry next time he needs the loo...
- Pikachu was better :\
- Why would PIPLUP hate RAIN?
- Diablo's ocean...original.
- God, this sounds like Lost. And not in a good way.
- Corphish's muttering made me XD
- And now the stone is beating like a heart. This is Pokemon, right, not Silent Hill?
- ...another flashback? They're getting desperate.
- I squeed when Pikachu puffed up it's cheeks XD
- How did it gasp so much without drowning?
- Why didn't they just use the unbreakable arm to begin with? :\
- The twerps really are quite athletic.
- I laughed so much at the conversation between Jenny and TR XD
- OH MY GOD A GLOWING ROCK!
- I would have thought the Magikarp sub would be heavier than Jenny's boat...
- Apparently, Deoxys can cause the Aurora borealis...in the tropics...during the DAY.

Rubbish description for a rubbish episode, it doesn't deserve the effort XD Other than that, this is the best thread evar :D Because I made it.

There you go. What's one more filler description? Next time, add monkeys and bananas, those are always funny.

I never realized how Deoxys is the most go-to Legendary, ever. Man, I wish Mewtwo had his agent.

I viewed this ep recently; here are my comments... (sorry again about the abrupt thread revival)

- Go away, Piplup -_-
- Pikachu, you should've let Piplup starve

Sinnoh Team Rocket Motto
Rubbish description for a rubbish episode, it doesn't deserve the effort XD Other than that, this is the best thread evar :D Because I made it.

Piplup is starting to get annoying...and it should've starved with its gluttonous self. Pikachu did all the hard work to get the apples, and Piplup just gobbles them up? Watch this come back to bite Piplup in the butt later on. The things Pikachu has to put up with these days... :cer_no:

[Regarding how many the Sinnoh Team Rocket Motto was used] What. The. Heck. 3 TIMES?! That's even worse than... er... nothing?

Ah, I remember. I hated this episode because Team Rocket destroyed teh moment by coming up when the rock was SHININ'.

It's like PUSA barely has any other music to play... :( But that is kinda true, due to all the licensing issues with the other Pokemon musical tracks...
Darn Team Rocket and their ruining of cool/emotional parts in the anime...

Why am I the only person who LIKED it?

Corphish, PIplup, and Deoxys in one episode=:D:D:D

I liked it. As long as the plot isn't
-encounter, help, and say goodbye to Wild Pokemon/Trained Pokemon & Trainer(s) or any other repetitive/uninspired variant, it's fine with me! This ep reminded me of Island of the Giant Pokemon, actually, evoking so much nostalgia... :) Corphish and Deoxys were welcome appearances; I'm neutral towards Piplup, though...

For starters, Piplup shouldn't be larger than Pikachu, I let out a little smirk when I saw this. At the start Piplup's body was wider and taller than Pikachu.

Not only did I notice this, but Corphish was back, and I only wish that when the story it told during the show, it should have had subtitles. This would have matched perfectly to the episode from season one where all of Ash's Pokémon and Team Rocket's Pokémon were all lost together on one island. Subtitles were shown here and you could actually understand what the Pokémon were saying, lol.

Besides this, I've also learned from this episode that PokéBalls are not made of metal. This is what got me interesting most. Deoxys was pulling in all the energy from the meteors that it created a magnetic field. The boat and Team Rocket's ship were all being pulled towards it, clearly proving to be made of metal. However, the PokéBalls, such as the one Jesse through out to bring out Yanmega never got pulled in, so this was quite a funny thought.

Other than this, it was nice for Deoxys to get some aire time. We at least got to see two forms of it, and it wasn't shown to be humiliating. Yet, it appeared quite well in this episode. However, we finally reach the location for Dawn's next contest, so I'll be making sure to stay tuned for that next week.

This episode made me realize how huge Piplup's head is these days. It's massive, actually. Oddly enough, Piplup doesn't tip over (even after eating all those apples...) But the size consistency should be improved in later eps... Piplup should take a tip or 2 from Pikachu on how to get slim...

Subtitles for the Pokemon would've helped greatly. Island of the Giant Pokemon nostalgia all over again. :D But the 'Pokemon' would have to be Legendary this time, not giant (unless you count Piplup). ;)

Nice find on the Poke Ball's element. If it's not metal, what is it, then...?

I thought the episode was pretty good... but why does everybody hate Piplup?

A lot of people dislike Piplup because it tries to impersonate being another Piakchu to some people. For instance it is almost all of the time out of its Pokéball. Not to mention, it was shown in a Japanese episode that Piplup refused to evolve just like Ash's Pikachu. So, because of some thinking it as annoying and seeing Piplup act as if it wants all screen time to itself they treat it as a nuisance.

For example, if you watched this episode you will notice how Piplup tries to overact its proud nature. Not to mention, the time when Piplup was trying to make its Bubblebeam higher than Pikachu's Thunderbolt when trying to make a signal only proves how Piplup wants to be better. I like it nevertheless though, it just adds a bit of comedy to the show, but that is my opinion while again, others find it annoying.

Whoa...a 'Pikachu-ripoff' all along...LAME!! This is another reason why I wish Dawn got Turtwig instead of Piplup... :( In regard to Piplup's refusal to evolve, it's kinda stupid. Pikachu actually had a reason to refuse evolution - SPEED attacks and to show Ash its dedication and newfound (though abnormal) strength.
All Piplup has is slight evasion due to smaller size, and that's not much (especially if Piplup continues excessively eating at this rate). Piplup might as well evolve to tap into its full strength; there's nothing that special about it and I don't see any 'abnormalities in stats' coming up anytime soon.

Piplup's boastful nature might stem from the fact that its head is so massive, its foes dismiss it as a joke from the start. Makes sense to me, though it's still annoying.

This episode wasn't that bad. it was just regular filler. My ELoT:

- Piplup ate five apples in a row? He's gonna be sorry next time he needs the loo...
- Apparently, Deoxys can cause the Aurora borealis...in the tropics...during the DAY.

Don't forget - Piplup's a lazy, ungrateful little moocher as well. WHY did Dawn ever pick that thing...? As for what happens to Piplup, that's what it gets.
I really dislike Probopass, but the reference to Easter Island's moai statues was nice.
Lol at Deoxys's untimely and out-of-place aurora...

Well, I loved Deoxys's 'random' appearance and the 'curiosity' this ep gave us. I missed most of the "Forme-Changing," but I glimpsed when Deoxys changed Formes as it acrobatically flipped, which I thought looked neat.

And I'm glad the mystery was Deoxys; if the writers are going to give that much attention to a rock, it had better be a Legendary. I remember the episode Up Close and Personable! where there was a green light that was luring some of the Pokemon, and even had this whole legend describing it. It pissed me off when the hyped-out 'light' was just a stupid non-Legendary Lumineon. :cer_pissed:

For some reason, I loved this ep's Corphish more than I usually liked Ash's Corphish. The "Cor, cor, Corphish!" uttering that it was doing while moving rocks and telling a tale to Pikachu and Piplup was amusing, yet fitting. :) :t341:
This ep also made me have more appreciation for the sound that Pikachu makes when he's bounding about, like when Pikachu ran through a field up to the apple tree. :t025:
Finally, this ep pushed me more towards the opinion that Piplup is getting to be annoying. I still think Turtwig would've served as a good replacement under Dawn's ownership... Anyway, Deoxys's emergence pretty much rectified this ep's cons for me. :t386:
