Pokemon
I'm currently working on a project which has no original Pokemon, so this section probably won't get much attention, but I felt compelled to make it anyway. A few of these are really old, from a competition in which you had to guess which Pokemon parts went into their creation, so they're kind of hastily thrown together. I really like the designs of the ones I'm posting, so I'll probably remake them from scratch eventually.

This section is for any other random, non-Pokemon things I make.
Most of these will be several years old.
Zelda
These are from a Legend of Zelda fangame I've had in the works for a
few years... I want to finish writing and planning the entire game before
recruiting anyone to help, so all I have for now is six hours worth of events
and dialog, some clear plans for about five more hours, and these sprites.
Link, the hero of the story! He hails from a jungle village, where
everyone lives in giant hollowed-out gourds that I decided not to
finish until I had more of the game's story done. I actually have
around two hundred frames of animation for him, somewhere.
Here's an outdated version of the map... that's pretty much all I have to say about it.
The Minish Cap has Gorons, but no Goron Elder, so I took the normal Goron
sprite and edited it into one, based on official art of the Goron Elder from
Oracle of Ages. The sprite of the same Goron Elder from the aforementioned
GBC Zelda game is on the left, for reference.
The Minish Cap has no Zoras at all, so I decided to make them myself.
Back then, I wasn't very confident in my ability to sprite from scratch, but
I could modify pretty much anything into pretty much anything else. They
aren't great, but like most of the things involved with this project, I just
haven't gotten around to finishing them yet.
My first ever sprite revamp! I've never really been interesting in revamping
sprites, but I required a King Zora, and the one from Oracle of Ages was
already the perfect size.
My version of the classic Zelda enemy, the River Zora (left) and Rils, a
half Zora half River Zora girl who plays an important role in the story. As
you can probably tell, neither is completely finished.
A remake of the Great Maku Tree from Oracle of Seasons, very clearly
unfinished. Before you ask, yes, I do always leave a trail of the pieces
that went into my sprites. It makes it easier to revert to earlier versions
of the sprite, if I decide that I don't like how it's going or something.
Experimental, haniwa-like faces. They look pretty creepy... I actually
decided to base a boss which poses as a good guy on the last one.
This is from an experiment in character creation engines... This is the set
for female Kokiri. There are six hair styles available in five colors, six faces,
four bodies, and three hair accessories, for a total of around three thousand
unique combinations. Click here to see what they all look like in one place.
I have similar sets for male Kokiri, Gorons (all male), Gerudo (all female),
and both genders of Hylians, Sheikah, and Zoras, all of which can make
around 28,000 sprites. For the record, I have no intention (at this time,
anyway) of making a Zelda MMORPG.
Spoiler:
I've been spriting for years, but it was only last month that I gave
Pokemon trainers a try. These are all for Pokemon Dissension, so no touchie.
edit: the majority of these are outdated, so if you see me asking opinions, they've probably been resolved.
Skyler and Kelly, Dissension's playable characters. They're both
Frankensteinian (that's worth twenty-two points in Scrabble!) creations
made from existing sprites, but they're not bad for a first try, right?
My first trainer sprite from scratch, [name withheld] is your rival in Dissension.
With a green shirt and droopy white hair, he's the opposite of the protagonists.
He turned out better than expected, so I decided to do the rest of
Dissension's sprites from scratch as well.
This Pizza Boy is... well, he delivers pizzas, what else is there to say? His
body was drawn from scratch, and the bike is taken from a Triathlete.
When she's not taking pictures of Pokemon battles, this Photographer
cleaves boulders with her massive HairBlade™! By now, you must see
the emerging pattern. I have trouble with hair, can't draw feet, and-
you should have noticed this by now- I don't like to draw hands.
In G/S/C and D/P, the Officers are just so... serious, menacing.
I wanted to take them in a different direction with this "rookie cop" version.
The shading on this one is just horrible... it's a work in progress.
In R/S/E and D/P, the male School Kid is depicted as a little brainiac..
I wanted to go for something a bit different. I know that his leg is messed
up, and that neither of them have great shading... I'm not done with them
yet. The girl is actually the reason I created this thread... can anyone give
me advice on her shoes? I've looked at the shoes of sprites with legs in
similar positions, but.. I don't know. Maybe I should make the feet
more narrow and give her sandals...
Any comments, criticism, or moral outrage (over a pizza boy riding
a bicycle) you may have are welcome!
