Fight Archie!
You decide you're just not gonna let the bad guy waltz out the door with the Red Orb. You send out Marshtomp and Tailow - Marshtomp winces in pain for a moment from the damage he took from the Poochyena's, then stands up. Wattson sighs.
"Well, if we must. Manetric, go!"

"Sharpedo, wash them out of my way with Surf." commands Archie. Sharpedo blasts a tidal wave of water at you.
"Manetric, Shock Wave!" Manetric fires a yellow ball of energy at the tidal wave, temporarily holding it at bay. "Quick! Manetric can't hold that attack off for long!" says Wattson. You have to strike now, while Sharpedo is busy. What will you do?

^I agree its the only attack that is effective and not subject to rough skin. Hopefully we can hit it good enough for Wattson to get in a Shockwave/Thunderwave to paralyze it
 
Use Mud Shot
Marshtomp blasts the attack into Sharpedo, but it barely winces and keeps attacking. Archie smiles.
"Hah ha! Sharpedo is twice Marshtomp's level! Do you really think you can hurt him? Now, Sharpedo, Slash!" Your Pokemon prepare to intercept the attack, but Sharpedo flies right past the Pokemon, and slashes Wattson instead. He groans, and collapses. "Wa-ha-ha! That's what you get for challenging me! Now Sharpedo, Surf again!" Sharpedo prepares to fire another Surf attack at you.

Use Manectric's Shock Wave. It super affective, and he is your highest leveled pokemon.
 
Run Like Hell theres no way we can take it so we take wattson and leave, and live to fight another day. (I'm sure we'll meet Archie again)
 
Take Wattson and Run!
You decide that even with Manetric, you probably wouldn't stand much of a chance against Archie.
"Gr... Marshtomp, get Wattson!" Marshtomp picks up Wattson, Manetric blasts a hole in the wall and you and the Pokemon go jumping through.
"I knew it, kid. You're no match for Team Aqua." you hear Archie say as you leave. You hide in the bushes and watch Team Aqua leave. While it's good they're leaving the town alone, but they got what they came for: the Red Orb. But why do they want it so badly?
After a while, in the Slateport Hospital, Wattson regains consciousness.
"Arg... Those scoundrels got away. I'll notify the police and other Gym leaders."
"Yeah... I bailed..." you say dejectedly.
"Hey, cheer up!" says Wattson, "You did above and beyond for a rookie trainer by even having the guts to stand up to Archie. I'll tell you what - the moment I get out of here, in a few hours, we can have our rematch." That cheers you up.
You have an hour or so before Wattson can leave hopsital, and you decide to explore Slateport in the meantime - you probably have time to visit 3 places. Where do you want to go?

Beach Perhaps we can encounter a Pokemon albeit a pokemon who would be useless against Wattson but a Pokemon nonetheless.
 
I agree, to the beach. We could meet some girls catch a Pokemon or train up a bit. (I still think we should have caught that Oddish...)
