2nd Gen Choose your starter for Pokemon crystal?

I personally go with totodile everytime, i think it was my original starter on crystal since on gold i went with cyndaquil and i use to not like chikorita when i was younger.

but crystal is interesting because across the different cannons she has all 3 as starters

in the main manga she has a chikorita but it wasnt her starter, she already had a powerful team when prof. birch's chikorita sought to proove to her that she should take her on her adventure
in the anime special her counterpart, marina, started with a totodile
in the golden boys manga she has a cyndaquil

I would probably choose Totodile. Probably because of Ash's Totodile in the anime, and because how beautiful the design is for both it and it's evolutions (Totodile). That and I always used to imagine it chomping on the Rival's foot for being a jerk all the time.

If you need hard-hitting physical monster that also can use its special moves - pick Feraligatr.
If you need a special hitter and a rather rare fire-type STAB, pick Typhlosion.
If you need a bulky wall, support and general switch-in in case of emergency pick Meganium.

All of them have their strong and weak sides, and the choice depends on your playstyle.

I go with Chikorita since he's more of a tanky Pokemon. I like the other two starters, but I always prefer Chikorita over the other two. Plus you can make a weird Defense Offensive mix on Meganium and use either Attack or Special Attack since there is only a one point difference between the two stats.

I usually always go with Totodile, especially during my recent playthroughs of Silver, Crystal, and Soul Silver.

Feraligatr can rampage through the game and in my opinion gets some great moves.

Used Cyndaquil on a Gold playthrough and I wasn't super impressed but I do like Typhlosion as a pokemon.
