I can not believe people are giving well wishes to a double murderer and completely overlooking his wife and son. Just goes to show that as long as you're a good entertainer, people can look past the fact that you strangled an innocent seven year old child and a mother to death. It sickens me.

What's up with that. The fact that he might of been a great "wrestler" doesn't give him the right to kill anyone being!

I think it's funny that people felt bad for Benoit in the beginning of this thread. Obviously when the news first broke, he looked like a victim.

In 2003 his wife filed for divorce and alleged that he had physically abused her. History of violence if you ask me, though I don't think the 'roid rage' thing is the answer.

When i first heard i was like have they got the names mixed up or something.
I didn't really register he had killed his wife and son for a while.
It took a bit to sink in.
 
I can't believe he would kill his family. I have always liked him as a wrestler.
He never seemed to be someone that would do anything like that. Was surprised when i put on Raw on monday to see Vince in the ring with no crowd. When he said it it was the first i had heard about it. Still in shock now.
I still feel sorry for him but mainly his wife and son.
Anyone heard any reasons for why he did it?

Well, they're saying that it was "Roid Rage," and I really hope it was, because at least it wasn't 100% his fault (Although, he did take the roids, if that is indeed true).

I feel terrible for his family. And I always loved Benoit, but now... that repect has somewhat faded, though I do have the slightest respect for him.

Yep, usually when the whole family is dead, he killed them both and then killed himself. So... strangling his wife and choking/sufficating his kid huh? Aaah.. that sad.
 
Could he of Killed his wife and locked his son in his room and killed his mom and thought maybe people would've heard something and called the police, and no one did so he killed his son to see if anything would've happened again and waited a day to see what would happen, then killed himself since there was no one that knew what happened?
Maybe he wanted to go to prison or something for taking Steriods and wanted to do time for it?

Sounds Dumb but you never know.
 
That's not a good way to do it. he could have just went to the police station and turned himself in for that.
Now that I see that it has been proven that he killed his family I can belive it.
I think it's sad that he would do such a thing.
But after hearing the story in more detail I think that if he was having trouble at home that he would have a motive. It might not have been the steroids that caused the murder after all. If he was angry at the mother and child then the steroids could have fueled an already burning anger into a massive flame.
Or he could have done it because he was really angry. The steroids may not have caused it. We may never know.
 
What I know from people I've talked to is that there is alot of stress involved in the 'business' (as it's called so often now). Pro wrestlers are some of the hardest working people in the Entertainment business. You travel nearly 360 days a year and almost never get a day off (you're usually either training or wrestling, non-stop). On top of that, you've got family calling on a regular basis asking when you'll be home next. If you're lucky, you can bring your family with you, but that isn't always possible (case in point, when they're overseas in other countries).

As for Chris, he also had the added issue with his son having a disease that could have made him autistic later on.

Plus, they think that 'Roid Rage' also contributed to it. I don't know if this is true or not, but based on what I know, I'm not ruling it out. Steroids are one of the two drugs that aren't screened on a regular basis (the other being pot, hence RVD's '420' shirts and pants).

But it doesn't even matter that much. It's still a tragedy that shouldn't have happened.
 
The most messed up part about all of this is the fact his wife was bound by her hands and feet. I could see if he got angry and just snapped and choked (not saying its right) but the fact she was tied up just makes it all the more worse. I liked it better when I thought Benoit was the victim. I'm not even sure what to think on this matter at the moment.

EDITED. Who cares how much stress he was under. It's his fault for taking steroids in the first place if that was the case. Anyone who kills anyone else should burn in hell, no exceptions.

There was a story floating around that he was prescribed the steroids to help his neck heal faster or something.

I think it was painkillers, but I'm not sure if it was steroids. When he died he had I think it was 3 time the normal amount of Testosterone in his body.
 
Look man, I've been a fan of WWE for years (And if you don't believe me, look at my trainer card ant title) At any rate, I've seen Benoit in action a lot. I remember him pinning Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 20. I remember him making Finly tap out for the United States Title on an edition of Smackdown. Then, Just when he gets drafted to ECW for their highest honer, he kills himself, not before whacking his wife and son of course. I mean, HIS SON WAS HANDICAPPED! Poor kid. Nancy and Chris also had a rocky relatonship. also, it was steroids. Man, you think you know a guy...
 
All three of the dead had Xanax in their systems, the son, the most, to believe he was sedated before being killed.

He did .not. have steroids in his blood at the time of death, but it seems that he had been using steroids at some time in the recent past beforehand.

What was found in his blood was testosterone, and epitestosterone, the breakdown product of testosterone. The toxicology report said he had more than likely been taking a medicine for some sort of sexual dysfunction.

I'm sticking by the last post I had in this thread, the theory that he had post-concussion syndrome. It makes more sense than anything else out now.

It's a brain injury; it can do serious damage to the way your mind works, even though a concussion seems like nothing.

Yep...such a shame to lose one of the best technical wrestlers ever. It would've been fun to have watched him win the ECW Championship at Vengeance...then they stick the title to John Morrison (or whatever Nitro changed his name to).

Unfortunately you won't get in the Hall of Fame since McMahon doesn't want you mentioned anymore...
