At school my friends say that they can't wait for christmas, but then some of them claim to like christmas mainly for the presents...
I was just wondering, are people celebrating christmas for christmas or presents 'cause i mean all you see on TV are Ads saying there's a sale for whatever...just for xmas.
I know christmas is a time for sharing but some people just like the recieving end than the giving end...
anyways just wanted to hear your point of views...

I like it for the feeling of the season to be honest. Sure getting a gift is nice, it shows that someone cares about you. But giving them, is also good, so you can show someone else that you care about them as well. I wouldn't mind if I didn't get any presents as I've gone X-mases before like that. Which was good, it teaches you to really respect the season and not be so greeedy.

I grew up all Catholic and such, so even if I don't believe in it's "meaning" (I put that in quotation marks not because I don't believe, but because it's been ruined more or less by media and whatnot), I still just like that time of the year. It's nice to be on Christmas holidays since it's the only time of the year my entire family is home. Normally when everyone has time off, we're on vacation or we're cleaning the house, but it's different with Christmas.

I do really love the presents. It's awesome waking up Christmas morning and seeing a big gift from Santa under the tree~ ^_~ Plus, seeing your family's faces light up when they open your gifts to them. Best time of the year. <3

I perzonally like Christmas vacation more then anything ''=3

I like zeeing everyone happy, it'z great. Lol, much better then zeeing then angry, obvioulzly. But my family livez all over the country, and I rarely zee them at Christmas. Zo it'z not zo much of a family gathering for me.
Az for the prezantz..I havn't actually azked for anything for about three yearz o_O It'z alwayz nice to receive a gift from zomeone, it zhow their affection for you, but I have my own money zo if I want zomething I can buy it. It zoundz kind of corny to zome people but I honeztly like giving giftz. My parentz never want to buy anything for themzelvez zo zeeing them light up when they get zomething they've been wanting but wouldn't get for themzelvez iz great =D

I juzt like the overall feeling of waking up really really late in the day to come downztairz to a bunch of decorationz.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Before I was more about the presents. Now, recently, I love the feelings of the holidays. I feel united with my family, and I love Christmas songs!

This is what happens to corrupted holidays *sigh*
    Shame...XD
Like my holiday, Hannuka, became the Oh-Cool-We-Get-8-Presents holiday....*shakes head* XD

If you want me to be honest; PRESENTS!

For me it used to be just the presents, but after a while you start to see that people around you seem to be nicer to each other, and thats feels prety good, if things are usually tense. I still like the presents though, I would be lieing if I said I didn't XD.

I guess as you get older you start to see past just the presents, and start feeling the spirit of Christmas.

Hmm, I'm stuck because you gotta need both.
No Christmas, no present. No presents no Christmas. (Well, you can still have Christmas but I get into the Christmas spirit by opening some early gifts.)

Buuuuut if I had no choice, I'd stick with Christmas.....with video games. XD

Christmas is my favorite holiday; I love it! It's so much fun because almost everyone in my family actually comes to visit, which is nice because we're rarely all together like that. We always go to my grandparent's house and meet up just to spend time with each other. (They've got the biggest house, and they're fun to be with so they always invite everyone!) My grandfather's so much fun because he'll always come up with games that everyone can participate in, (like scavenger hunts... and trust me, he puts some pretty crazy stuff on the lists!) and my grandmother's always decorated nicely and just made it fun. Though, this year she isn't feeling too well since she just had surgery, and she wanted me to be in charge of the theme and all of the decorating. o_o Ack, I hope I can come up with something good...

Anyway, what I really enjoy is just the whole feeling, like blue said. My family is really fun, so it's great to be together like that. The presents are also a plus, too! XP

I like Christmas for one thing... Rankin Bass specials! You know, the stop-motion Rudolph, Life and Adventures of Santa Clause, Year without a Santa Clause (I love Heatmiser!), et cetera.

I used to like it for the presents and family, but in my old age I don't really want or need anything, and the only relatives we visit are my dad's father and family (we avoid my mom's side of the family for personal reasons). And unlike in my childhood where I lived in New York and Vermont and then went down to Maryland to see relatives, we all live in the same state, so no more road trips. Sigh.

I like giving and getting presents, it's really fun. xD The only people that are benifiting from holidays are greedy manufacturers and companies though. Think about it. ^_^

Buttt, I'm not Christian so I don't celebrate Christmas that into detail, but I do have parties.

I love the tree, the presents, the lights, all that Christmas hype.

But as I am Christian and do actually "follow" the religion (some don't really do that, it's just that's their religion), I do respect the season, and also I like the symbolic stuff, and all the happiness of the event that happened then, but I'll shut up as this is a dangerous post.

Well, since I'm satanic I'm not really in it for the reason it's there or the warm holiday cheer... I think I like it for the presents.... Yea... Yep... Presents o.o;;;..... Besides Santa Claus is a jewish hating baystard and all he is really gonna give us for christmas is more dead US soldiers! :P.

I'm on the giving end.I don't really care if I get any thing for xmas, aslong as I can give something, that makes me happy just to see some one else happy :D
