Clan Wars - 'The Clan' vs. 'The Generation'

There's one thing that's not taken into effect with the survivor series elimination. I'll cut it down to a 4v4.

Person #1 is an all-out battler and he's completely amazing with his skills. *2-4 aren't that great and paired with #1, and #5-8 are good players. Bold defines who wins.

1 v 5
2 v 6
3 v 7
4 v 8

Next round, only one round takes place, but 1 beats #6,7, and 8. That means that clan 1 would be the winner because of one person.

In the extended war, this is much less likely to be taken into account and noticed. Sure that player could get 10 points, but the other team would get 30, so it doesn't rely on just 1 person.

However, this system will take a lot of hax luck out of battling (in theory, numbers) and the team with less trainers will have the choice of the lineup.

This also puts into account true skill. That way the creme of the crop battle at the end, making it very very interesting. This will also eliminate the not-so-up-to-par trainers from the competition. (like myself)
Before i forget, this will also have the clan war over a little quicker with a lot more organization. A fair trade off in the end...also making it much easier for the people in charge of running the tournament
 
But here's another factor. Let's say you put hax luck into effect. Basically it's like a 3v3 match; One lucky blow or win can change over the match completely.

One suggestion that's possible is by instead of doing 10 matches, make it 5 matches. It's just an idea that will cut down the time of the war and relieve some pressures. However, I'm shaky on it.
 
or have the tournament in two parts. With a A team and a B team, involving elimination style matches.
If both sides get 1 win, a representative from both clans battles for the victory.
 
My Garchomps been frozen twice in a row, that NEEDS to be considered and mentioned if such hax has taken place in a battle

And Name, try 14 turns frozen (my friend's horrid luck + me just seeing how long it'd stay frozen)
 
well, get this. My metagross gets frozen almost every time i switch it in!
 
I like the 10 battles each method. Keeps us all busy, XD. And I personally really want to fight 10 of those people. =D

I also say quit the organizing and let's get started. Unlike some tournaments I could mention, our group of twenty has no intention of not showing up I hope. XD

And starting Friday night or right now would be great as well. Seeing as I am unavailable all day Saturday. ^_^
 
That just sucks for you. It should be a joint decision on whether the match counts, if a considerable amount of hax accours.
 
if it is completely legal, i see no problem with it. Even if it is versus me.
Does NOT mean i like it.
 
Well Ala, when I get final things confirmed with Celestial, then we'll get this show on the road. I still don't know how long it'll take, but I'll be sure it's within the next couple days.

Why was hax even bought up?
 
I say we keep the 100 battle thing. It kind of makes hax and such not so important (because if you lose one battle to hax, you can still win your other battles). And if only one member on a clan's side won the match, that'd completely screw up the whole thing. Elimination just doesn't work with how this war should go about.

Just to let everyone know, Ooka isn't able to go online because his router is broken. This means: I can't get one of my pokemon back from him, he can't battle for us, AND he can't post here unless he goes to the library. (So I don't know what will happen with him if he doesn't get a new router.)

I was wondering why I havn't seen Ooka around....hmmm...I hope he can get a new one soon and hope you can get a replacement if he can't get a new router. =x
 
Well Sabaku, is your clan capable of rounding up another member to temporarily take over for Ooka? If not, then we'll have to keep delayin :/ I'd rather not win match by forfeits.

Only so many delays. I can only battle this weekend.
