Cloyster ---> Gastly?

Wow, never even noticed or thought about it until I read this thread. Surprised I didn't think the same though, I was wrong countless times about so many other things those days. XD

I had never noticed this either! They do look almost EXACTLY alike though, now that you mentioned it.

That reminds me of...

[PokeCommunity.com] Cloyster ---> Gastly?

Well back to the Gastly-Cloyster discussion, I never thought they look so similar until you pointed out, and the fact that they're next to each other in the Pokedex. XD

Actually when Pokemon first came out I too thought that Gastly and cloyster came from the same evolutionary line... also it doesn't help with them being next to each other in the pokedex.

Im surprised to see how many other people also got confused.

I never thought of that, but if really paid attention to it when I was younger I couldve thought that. xDD I wouldve been going around saying gastly evolves into cloyster kids!

Children often start watching pokemon at the age 4. They are bound to at least once think that Ghastly and Cloyster are similar, and then when they grow up, they learn that they are two completely different things; a black pearl, and a manifestation of gas known as hitodama or will-o-wisps.

Defintely have similarties and look identical in the face so they probably did branch ideas off of eachother. Maybe that's why Ghastly's evolution is right after Cloyster?
