xD I knew this day would come eventually! That's crazy.

I would have to agree with the above poster; if anyone were to go up to the moon commercially at this point, it would only be the rich and famous. However, at this rate maybe the price will drop in a few decades. It's just like every other technological idea/device; the further we advanced, the newer the technology, the more available this all becomes to the rest of us.

I'd rather pay just $5000 and undergo no training to spend a few hours on a 0G flight. Space isn't my personal goal (unless I can be a pirate) nearly as much as knowing simply what weightlessness feels like.

And no it's not awesome since we've had space flight for some fifty years now, we should have hotels up there already and this ought to be the norm. I don't remember the aviation or automotive industries taking this long to get started (I understand it's not nearly as simple, but still), hurr.

It seems a waste to me. Wast of time, waste of money, waste of resources. I can imagine some scientists on a space walk out fixing a satellite when some gaudy commercial space-jet flies past and some moron pulls his pants down in front of a window. I know that's not how it works. I just think space should be left to the professionals at this point. I'll be happy to go into space when we have solar powered space ships and ticket prices in the thousands and not hundred of thousands.

I wouldn't go diving to feel what water pressure feels like, if you know what I mean. I'd personally look forward to gaze at my own planet from the outside. Truly has to be a beautiful sight.

But who are we to set norms, complaining about that in a Pokémon forum? Besides, think about the proportions. You just can't compare commercial space travel to aviation or automobiles. It's not only incredibly more complicated, as you say; it's expensive too. Way too expensive for it to kick off as fast as you seem to want it to.

Now the first production of commercial automobiles was around the 1880s, so it took it more or less than 20 years for the "industry" to take off (and that's a minimum). 2001 saw the first space tourist. Though it has been developing since the 1990s, space tourism is still very young in comparison. Where's your claim that is has taken so long to get started?

I understand Paul is not dead, but still...

Eek! Scaaary. I don't plan to go into space. Ever. I like it where I am, thanks.

The longer they take to do this, the better. It's incredibly dangerous.
As Scarf said, it's a waste.

There are so many beautiful sights here on Earth, and I'm perfectly okay to go and see them instead of the endless dangerous vacuum (sp?) of Space. I understand that Earth is dangerous too, but I'd rather die on my home planet instead of... Out there.

I don't want to go into space anytime soon,
Let alone for a holiday =/
    Maybe when the apocolypse comes..

Space, the final frontier. I shall go there soon. Tootaloo!

Speak for yourself. Space travel will (or is already) as safe as traveling by plane. And we all know traveling by plane is safer than by car.

It's kinda sad to discard space travel out of an irrational fear of tragedy. No offense intended, but you sound like my grandmother avoiding a flight to Cancún.
