Competitive Wifi Battling

    Hey guys, Im new to the PokeCommunity! Lately I've been getting interested in competitive wifi battling, but I don't understand the basics of it. Here's just a couple of questions I have.
    . what is a sweeper
    . what is a tank
    . what is STAB
    . how do I EV train
    . how do I breed for good IVs
    That is just a couple of questions that I have, but if you have anything else to say about Wifi battling, be my guest.

    Hey, I'll answer some of your questions.

    A Sweeper is a Pokemon with High speed and attack or Special Attack, they are meant for inflicting large amounts of damage.
    (examples: Infernape, Zangoose, Alakazam, Gyarados)

    A tank is a sturdy pokemon which is also able to inflict a fair amount of damage, they are usually slow compared to sweepers
    (Examples: Swampert, Bronzong)

    STAB stands for Same Type Attack Bonus. If a pokemons type matches that of the move it's using, that moves' power will increase by 50%.
    (Example: a Ralts using Confusion will have a power of 75, instead of 50.

    For EV training, I suggest looking up some guides on what are good places to train for Evs
    I don't know anything about IV breeding...
