Computer Decidion: Dell Dimension 8400 or a iMac G5/eMac with Virtual PC 7?

Getting both would be WAY too expensive anyway o_O...

What is a KVM switch... o.o.... *confused*....
 
Keyboard, video, mouse. It basically switches all these things between two boxes. So like, you can use the same mouse, monitor, and keyboard at your desk to control two different machines. That way you don't have to move to another spot to use them, and you don't have to buy an extra set.
 
but, wouldn't emulation would be slow. ~_~....

and it uses alot of bandwidth.
 
…o_O Are we on the same page here? I'm not talking about emulating different architectures, just using the same peripherals. What S-kun is suggesting is you keep your CURRENT PC and get a new Mac, or whatever and share the peripherals between them. You'd have both boxes and they'd run independently.
 
yes, but isn't KVM uses alot of bandwidth just like Remote Desktop Connection?
 
DELL ALL THE WAY!!!!! PICK THE DELL!!! I just got one in April and I have had zero proplems with it, and it is was the 2400! You are getting top of the line so It will be your perfect computer!!!
 
NO MORE DELLS... I'm sick of them... I have problems with their fans already.... and graphics card..

I'm never getting a dell... =p... I'm getting a hewlett-packard or a apple computer. ^_^
 
KVM seems to be complicated... how much will it cost, and will it worth it vs. buying virtual pc for mac?
 
KVM seems to me is very complicated... alot of wires... augh...... and I have to run my noisy dell...

X_X... but I used virtual pc on windows and it works faster than vmware... but is it the same case on the mac. o.o...
 
I really meant the function of the right click...it gives you a quick menu like copy, paste, properties...etc, but it dont matter I still like my dell.

Well, to do a right click (comand (apple key)+ click).

I used macs before, so I would know. ^_^

I am satsfied with Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 Speed. ^_^... maybe I will buy it for the mac. ^_^
