Computers get sick, too.

One time, told my virus scanner to delete EVERY INFECTED FILE I OWN... shame something vital in system 32 was infected, needed a new computer after that >.<
No, you could repair that easily. Either install a new OS or do a recovery install.

Firefox's built-in virus checker fails so hard it doesn't deserve to be put in. Never in my life have I seen it detect a virus :/
That's because there is no built-in virus checker. It uses any installed AV to scan a file, so your AV will pop up an alert if it finds something. And if you don't have an installed AV, it'll just take up time, because it'll still try to scan it with an AV that you don't have (which is really stupid behavior).

lol, windows 5! he surely means XP, how can he revert 7 back to XP, you cant upgrade XP to 7, so there is no possibility of a downgrade....
Yeah you can. Just wipe off 7 and install XP, not hard at all. OTOH, a virus isn't going to "revert" Windows to a previous version, that's just absurd. It was probably some trick or something.

I use OS X as my primary OS, so I laugh really hard when a popup gets through my popup blocker and tells me my computer is infected with 32 viruses. And the visual style is that of XP.

I use McAfee on my XP partition when I use it, and I'm switching to Avast once I get my XP partition wiped and reinstalled with 7.

That is a common one, my dad had the DOWNLOADER then Windows Defender located it and deleted it.

LOL, my computer fails, I guess. Oh well. At least it's gone now.
OH YEA,
today I checked my email and saw a suspicious message from someone named Tokidoki Marse(??)
"Doon't cry!! Yourr mom willl neveer see thiis moovie.
*LINK*"

I NOW KNOW NOT TO CLICK.

I don't get viruses on macbook. I got a Malware was found at website. I using Safari Fraudulent website.

I got a virus on Windows Seven, so then I switched back to Linux D:

(Still using OSX, too)

I was downloading a PKMN RUBY ROM when I accidently clicked on a poker game ad, the computer wouldn't respond and after an hour of fixing it, my dad found out it was an spiteful trojan! :(

I hate vires but, I don't have to do anything. Because whenever my computer gets them I just hand it off to my dad and he fixes it.

Viruses are annoying but in all honesty they can be avoided through the proper safety measures and the right amount of information. Haven't had a virus in about 2 years now. Although I do make sure the anti-virus is always updated. Note: Don't EVER buy Norton.

Oh boy, have I got a story for you.

Long ago, in the land of Windows XP Home Professional, there lived a Compaq computer with a scroll mouse. That was about the time I found out the existance of TamashiiHiroka on YouTube, becomming a new member on PC and learned about AdvancedMap/Pokemon hacking. I was a little bit obsessed with getting Fire Red roms to hack.
There were many sites I visited to get these roms, and that was my first and final mistake to ever be made when downloading roms. After my many rom downloads, my computer became infected.
It had viruses that were unspeakable of. Sometimes, it even changed my desktop background to a biohazard sign to let me know that this trojan meant buisness. I was only 12 at the time, so I had no idea what it had meant; so I foolishly let it go on like nobody's buisness.

Then, it happened.

The virus infected my hardware, and made my screen un-recognizable to my pc tower.
That's the last time I've EVER would've downloaded roms without Norton.

tl;dr: Don't install roms without any Anti-Virus software.

Common sense.

And on the off chance that I still do get one, google is my right hand man in fixing it.

Anti-virus's just piss me off with all the notifications and how much resources they use.
Although, I can't say that Nod32 whined all that much.

I've never had any viruses/trojans/spyware on this computer although this computer is rather old (4 years old to be exact).
