Here are the sequels to Ties of Love and Friendship. Not much suspense...but I bet you guys are going to like them... ^_^

Warning: Note that this will contain spoilers for my main story, Ties of Love and Friendship

    Part 1: Confessing

Gary sighed and stretched his arms as he relaxed in Mount Silver?s hot springs. This is the life for him. After days of training, he could finally find relaxation in forms of hot springs. He submerged his entire body and his head was the only part of his body that was above the steaming water. He closed his eyes as he breathed silently in the spring?s warm waters.

Four years ago, he finally managed to accomplish his goal of finding his father. After a year staying with his parents, he headed out to start a new training in Johto. Then, now fifteen, Gary relaxed as he lazily sighed. He remembered his friends well?all of them. But the one he remembered the most was Emily. The girl?s vivid red hair and silver eyes remained in his mind. She was the one that change his life the most. She was also the one that made him love.

Four years ago, he denied her love. She loved him but he didn?t. But soon, he finally changed his mind when she took care of him lovingly despite the fact that he was the one that gave her the verbal slap to the face. He remembered her innocent smile and her curious gaze. If only he could talk to her one more time, then it would different.

As thought of her, he suddenly heard footsteps. He distinct sound of bare feet walking through the damp and rubbery grass alerted him that there was another person coming. He opened his eyes and realized that it was futile to see who it is. The steam completely covered the whole area in a blanket of white. He could only see a shadow moving towards the hot spring he was in.

He gulped when he realized that it was a girl with short hair. He saw the teenage girl feel the water with her feet. Then, she silently slipped down into the hot spring. She let out a small sigh as she relaxed.

?Oh crap?this isn?t supposed to happen?? Gary thought to himself. ?What to do? What to do?? He couldn?t possibly get out of the pool. The girl would panic. He couldn?t stay in the pool for long or else the girl would notice him. His mind raced as he thought of an idea.

He saw the girl stretch her hands and yawned. As the girl yawned, he heard her voice. It was a familiar voice that he?d heard before?it was so familiar it was too good to be true. Gary knew that if he?d talk, it would either make the girl panic or make the girl recognize his voice. So then, he inhaled?

    ?Emily?? He called out.

He saw the girl jerk her head towards him. ?G?Gary?? She stammered. It was her. The sweet, whispering voice flowed through Gary like a melody of sweet hymns.

?Emily, it?s you!? He immediately headed towards her.

She immediately became clear to him. It was her alright. Her hair, which used to be long, was now cut to her shoulder. Her silver eyes still remained and so did her curious gaze.

Gary grinned and was now happy to see her. ?I was just thinking about you?and now you?re here!?

?Gary?? Emily whispered softly. ?It?s been a while??

?A while? It was four years! Aw, man!? Gary exclaimed as he sat next to her. ?I can?t believe it, Emily! It?s really you!?

Emily smiled shyly as she let Gary sit next to her.

?So what are you doing here, anyway??

?Me? I?I?ve started my training two years ago?? Emily sighed as she looked down at the water. She played with the water with her hands.

?Why the sigh? Are you in trouble or something?? Gary asked her.

?No?it?s not that?it?s just that?? She then breathed deeply. ?When we were together, it was fun back then. But now?journeys are just so different without you?? She then blushed and faced Gary. ?I just wish I could travel with you again, Gary. But I don?t know where to find you??

Gary smiled. ?Well, now we found each other, maybe we can start your training again!?

Emily sighed again. ?Not now?Gary?something?s bothering me??

    ?What is it??

Emily paused as she looked down at the water. Before, when she looked young, she had a solemn look on her face. Now, the solemn expression made her look beautiful.

    ?What is it, Emily??

Emily quickly moved away to the point that Gary could see her silhouette she quickly came out of the hot spring and made her way to one of the benches.

?Emily?? Gary quickly leaped out of the pool, grabbed his towel and tried to dress as fast as he could. Emily had already begun to dress. When she was finished, Gary was putting on his dark shirt. He scooped his father?s pendant on the bench and placed his six Pok?balls in his pocket. He tried to follow Emily as fast as he could. ?Emily, wait up!?

He chased her until they were out of the woods near Mount Silver. Her hair was still damp as she turned around.

?Emily, you wanted to travel with me, right?? Gary smiled as he caught up with her.

Emily smiled timidly. ?I?I guess?? She whispered. ?It would be more fun rather than before??

He grinned as they walked together. ?You scared me then when you just sped off!? He exclaimed. ?What?s your problem anyway??

    ?Problem??

?I know there?s something bothering you,?

Emily immediately went silent. She sighed again as she looked up above at the azure, cloudless sky. The sun shined brightly as it cast long shadows of trees and rocks up above the rocky crags of the mountain.

?It?s nothing, Gary?? She whispered gently.

Gary looked at her. She was looking down as they walked. Her solemn face made her look really beautiful.

?You know?you look beautiful when you do that??

?Huh?? Emily blushed as she looked at Gary. Her face was flushing uncontrollably. ?Gary, what do you mean??

Gary retained his smile. ?You look beautiful when you do that!? He repeated.

?When I do what?? Her expression was puzzled.

?Well, you look really different when you look worried??

Emily smiled. Gary remembered this as the same innocent smile that he has seen a few years ago. ?Thanks?? She whispered silently. ?Gary??

    ?Yeah??

?Are we?are we still friends?? Emily stopped on her tracks and looked down. ?Are we, Gary??

Gary paused. This could be his chance?his only chance. He better not blow it or else he?d lose her.

?Please Gary?I want to know your answer??

Gary inhaled as he tried to think of the right words. His heart pounded wildly and his temples throbbed. ?Emily?? He began. ?To?to be honest?we?we?re not friends anymore??

Emily looked at Gary as if a sharp stab just hit her. Her eyes were immediately glazed with tears. ?Gary?? She whispered.

Gary thought of the sentence that he just said. Wait. That wasn?t what he meant! Before he could open his mouth, Emily had already begun to run away.

?Wait, Emily!? Gary yelled as he chased her. ?That?s not what I meant! Emily!?

She ran through tall grass and streams. Gary tried to catch up with her but she was too fast. Gary gasped as he tried to catch up with her. Soon, he lost her. He was standing alone, gasping and wheezing for air. He can?t believe it?he lost his opportunity to get to her?

?Emily?? He whispered to himself. ?That?that?s not what I meant??

Immediately as he said those words, he heard a scream. He quickly realized that the scream was from Emily and he followed it. He ran as fast as he could even though his lungs ached and burned. His heart throbbed uncontrollably and his muscles ached. Another scream followed, then the cries for help.

?Emily, I?m coming!? He yelled out loud. He heard the voice somewhere around him. He noticed the sparsely wooded area. Then, he noticed an army of brown, fury Pok?mon, swinging their claws. The tall Pok?mon surrounded something?or someone. He knew at once that Emily must have been cornered.

He headed towards the group of Ursarings and took out his Pok?ball. He threw the red and white sphere with all his might while yelling, ?Blaze, fire blast!?

Out from the smoke of the Pok?ball, his Charizard came out and stamped the ground. It flapped its huge wings as it inhaled, ready to fire. Then, in one breath, he sent out a gigantic ring of fire towards the Ursarings. Immediately, the brown bear Pok?mon looked at Gary and his Charizard. They jumped over some of their fainted comrades and rushed towards him.

Gary took out another Pok?ball and immediately released his Alakazam. The golden humanoid Pok?mon waved its spoons as it faced the army of Ursarings. ?Psychic!? Gary yelled. His Alakazam crossed its spoons and sent out a powerful invisible psychic wave that sent the Ursarings flying. Seeing this, many fled at the site.

Gary returned his Pok?mon immediately and ran towards Emily who was sitting on the ground, crying in fear. Her Dragonair lay next to her, fainted. She must have used it to fend off the Ursarings but she seems to have failed. He quickly took Emily?s Pok?ball, which was lying on the ground and returned her Dragonair.

?Emily!? Gary exclaimed as he kneeled in front of her. ?Emily, I?m sorry?that?s not what I meant!?

Emily continued to cry as Gary tried to convince her. Tears streamed down her beautiful face as she kept crying. Gary?s mind raced again as he tried to find a way to convince her. He immediately found an idea.

He summoned his strength to throw his arms around Emily. Immediately, Emily stopped crying.

?It wasn?t what I meant?? Gary whispered to her ear as he embraced her tightly. ?We aren?t friends anymore because?you were something more to me. You?re not just a friend to me anymore. You?re?Emily??

Emily wiped her tears as she looked at Gary?s eyes. He was smiling as he gazed down at her silver eyes.

?You?ve always been my best friend, Emily. I care for you so much?? He whispered to her. ?When you cared for me when I was injured?I wanted you to know that you changed my mind. You made me think over what I said to you?and I want to say I?m sorry??

?Gary, you already apologized,? She insisted but Gary hugged her tightly.

?Emily?your eyes are so beautiful?I just?wanted to see them ever since we separated. I wanted to see them everyday?by my side?? Gary then sighed. ?Emily?I love you now?I just love you??

Emily couldn?t believe what she was hearing. Those three words echoed loudly in her mind. After all those years, she didn?t know that he loved her back. She loved him so much when they were young?now?he finally loved her back. She wrapped her arms around Gary?something that she didn?t do for last few years.

?Gary?? She whispered. ?I love you too??

As Gary let go of her, he smiled. ?I think I owe you a kiss before?? He grinned.

Emily blushed. She remembered that she had kissed him on his cheek once. She nodded. ?I?I guess?? She prepared herself for Gary to kiss her on her cheek.

But to her surprise, Gary moved forward and then kissed her on the lips. She was shocked but immediately drowned in ecstasy as Gary wrapped his arms around her again. She couldn?t believe what was happening to her?at this age?she received her first kiss.

As Gary parted, she was breathing slowly and softly. Her heart pounded wildly as Gary gazed at her lovingly. ?Gary?? She whispered. ??Thank you??

Gary grinned as he caressed her cheek. ?You don?t need to thank me?? He simply whispered. ?I?m the one who should thank you??

Emily blushed again as she looked at the ground. She felt Gary?s hand stroke her face lovingly. She placed her hand on his hand, which was on her cheek. ?I loved you Gary?because?you were the one who understood me of my nightmares. You?you?re the only person who made my nightmares go away. You made me feel warm and you made me see?? She cried as she let her body rest against Gary?s. ?Gary?I don?t want to leave you now??

He smiled as he stroked her hair. ?Don?t worry. I won?t.?

    Part 2: Paths

The cruise ship S.S. Aqua boomed as it reached Olivine City?s port. Crowds gathered and cheered as they waited for their relatives, loved ones, or friends. Streamers lined up on the buildings and the port was extremely noisy.

The cruise ship boomed again as steam poured out from the long, gigantic tubes protruding from the ship. The sky was cloudless and the sun shined brightly as its rays touched the excited crowd. It was a beautiful day.

?Move it, buster!? Michelle yelled as she pushed off an adult next to her. Ignoring the yells of frustration, she dragged her twin brother, Nick, across the crowd.

?Michelle, why can?t we wait in the back?? Nick yelled as he tried to make himself noticeable.

Michelle continued to push her way through the crowd, ignoring Nick?s advice. Fourteen years old and still a Pok?mon trainer, Michelle and her brother resorted into traveling around Johto for a while.

Her short blond hair was tied behind her. She followed the current trend nowadays?she wore an open red jacket and a tight, black tank top under it. She wore really, short denim shorts?things that made her brother somewhat uneasy. Her white shoes were neatly cleaned.

Her brother on the other hand, was a boy who wore a long sleeved red shirt and faded denim pants that were ripped near the bottom. He wore dark boots and his hair was short and clean cut.

?Move off!? Michelle yelled as she bumped into an elderly woman.

?Michelle! Mind your manners!? Her brother yelled as they continued on their way towards the cruise ship.

Soon, the ship?s stairs were lowered and people were starting to descend. As Michelle burst from the crowd, a thin yellow plastic line dividing the spectators and the passengers stopped her and Nick.

    ?See him?? Nick asked.

Michelle shrugged as she looked around. People in suits and cloaks burst out from the cruise ship. Many brought their luggage with them and many of them were trainers. Some chatted with their friends as they descended while some others simply walked down from the ship. These people all came from Hoenn, Michelle and Nick?s home region.

?Wait, isn?t that him?? Nick pointed to a green haired boy descending from a ship. ?It?s him!? Nick then waved his arms frantically. ?Jeremy! Hey, Jeremy!?

The boy looked around as he heard his name being called. He looked over at Nick and Michelle and smiled. He quickly descended from the steps and headed towards them.

?Nick, Michelle!? He cried as he walked towards them. Jeremy?s hair was neatly combed and he was wearing a simple white shirt and blue denim pants. His shoes were full of scratches and traces of mud. ?It?s good to see you guys!? Jeremy was a year younger than Nick and Michelle. He was their childhood friend since Nick and Michelle?s parents were friends of Jeremy?s father.

Nick smiled but Michelle kept a blank expression. ?C?mon, Jeremy, we gotta get out of this place for a while!?

Jeremy nodded then went under the plastic yellow line to get to his friends. ?So how?s the training going?? He asked Nick as Michelle led the way out of the crowd.

?It?s pretty much going well!? Came Nick?s reply. He had to yell since around them, it was loud and noisy.

They continued to chat loudly until they finally managed to get out of the crowd. Jeremy looked around enthusiastically at the new world. He smiled excitedly as he looked back Nick and Michelle. Nick was smiling back while Michelle had a blank expression.

?Hey, why don?t we guys go around the city for a bit?? He asked them, his voice was full of excitement.

?That sounds like a great idea, Jeremy!? Nick exclaimed. Behind him, Michelle yawned in boredom.

Jeremy laughed after Michelle yawned. ?It looks like you guys didn?t change one bit, huh? It was so funny back then to see your parents separate you both,? Michelle sent out a small glare at Jeremy that silenced him from his laughter.

?Don?t worry about Michelle. She?s changed quite a bit!? Nick said. ?Now, let?s go around town!?

    ~*~*~*~

The three walked along Olivine city?s sidewalks. Small houses lined neatly along the neighborhood filled with good people and a few buildings filled the urban area. But what stood out most was the lighthouse that towered in front of the great, vast sea.

Nick and Jeremy talked happily for a while, Michelle trailing behind them. She sighed and tried to get attention from them but all failed. She wasn?t getting much attention from her old friend as much as Nick.

After eating and catching up, the group decided to go to the beach and sleep there.

    ~*~*~*~

Michelle sat on the sandy beach, gazing at the setting sun. Boredom was evident on her. She stayed silent for the rest of the day. All she did was listen to the two boys talking about training, gym battles, missing contests, and traveling.

Behind her, she could here them talk again and again, occasionally, laugh. The two were always like that. Boys will be boys. Michelle sighed softly as she looked at the sunset. The placid sea sparkled in bright colors of red and orange and danced around as the sea led up to the horizon where the sun was now a bright crescent. The first stars of the night started to appear and the sky was flowing in shades of purple, pink, and gold.

She looked around the seaweed-strewn beach and rested her head on her knees. She sighed again as the gentle sea breeze blew softly on her face.

?Hey Michelle! I?ll be getting some firewood and you need to entertain Jeremy here!? Nick called.

Michelle looked back at her brother and nodded. Beside him was Jeremy, smiling eagerly.

    ?Okay, I?ll be going now!?

Michelle continued to look at the sunset and heard the steps of her brother walking away. When the footsteps disappeared, she heard Jeremy sit next to her.

?Hey, Michelle!? He grinned as he sat next to her. ?You did change a lot. You didn?t say a lot this day, huh??

Michelle sighed. ?I guess?? Came her reply. ?I?m just not surprised that you?re here. I?m not excited at all??

    ?Why??

?I dunno. It?s just?seeing your face made me feel homesick. I?m not bored of you or something, I was excited when I heard you?re going to come here.? She sighed heavily. ?I miss home?that?s all??

Jeremy laughed. ?Of course you miss home! Your mom and dad miss you, too. I bet my dad will, too. And my mom, too?I just wish that she?s still here?? His cheerful expression turned into an expression of sorrow. ?Even though I always saw a picture of mom, I miss her??

Michelle looked at her childhood friend and realized what it meant. Jeremy?s father has a very rare disease that would make anyone who gets infected by it, weak and unable to do a lot of things. Though his father had this disease, he did become a great trainer in Hoenn. Then Jeremy?s father got married. When Jeremy was born, his mother contracted the disease, too. He was six years old when she died. With no one to physically support the family, Nick and Michelle?s parents, being Jeremy?s father?s old friends, helped him.

?I?m sorry I made you remind??

??No it?s okay, Michelle. It?s all right to miss someone. I missed you guys, too!? His expression returned to his happy self.

Michelle smiled weakly and then returned to looking at the sunset. Jeremy looked at the sunset, too.

?Isn?t it beautiful?? Jeremy sighed. ?I?ve never seen a great sunset like this for ages!? He then paused. ?Michelle, didn?t you say before that you had a boyfriend?? He asked her.

Michelle was immediately struck by the question. She immediately became alarmed when Jeremy asked her the question. ?Well?yeah?but?no! I mean?Jeremy, I have to talk to you about something??

    ?Huh??

?I?I don?t really have a boyfriend?I just told you about it because?I thought that he would like me even though I haven?t told him that I like him yet?? She whispered solemnly.

?Oh, I?m sorry I asked you that question??

    ?It?s okay??

Jeremy smiled, seeing that she was fine now. He immediately changed the subject. ?Aren?t you cold with your clothes??

?No,? Michelle shook her head. ?No I?m not??

He laughed as she shook her head. ?Nick told me about you changing your clothes. He said that you?re trying to be a stereotype or something,?

?I am not!? She argued back. ?Just don?t believe what Nick tells you about me!?

Jeremy laughed again. ?You did change,?

As the sun had finally set, they noticed that something was wrong?Nick should be here by now but he isn?t.

?He could?ve been late. It?s just easy to find firewood around here!? Michelle muttered as she stood up. She looked over where Nick and Jeremy talked earlier and noticed something. Six red and white spheres lay on the sand. ?He left his Pok?mon!? She exclaimed as she quickly scooped the Pok?balls.

    ?He what??

?He left his Pok?balls?he could get in danger?? She placed Nick?s Pok?balls in her pocket. ?Come on, Jeremy. Let?s find him,?

    ~*~*~*~

The two ran in the darkness; their path lit by the rays of the moon. They were north of Olivine city, trying to find him. Nick could be in danger since he forgot his Pok?balls. Michelle gritted her teeth at her brother?s stupidity. She ran as fast as she could with Jeremy trailing behind her, panting for air.

?Michelle?? He gasped as he managed to catch up with her. ?Slow down!?

?I can?t slow down, Jeremy!? She yelled. ?I just hate it when he acts so stupid and smart at the same time!?

    ~*~*~*~

?Easy there,? Nick yelled. He was up a tree, avoiding a pack of Houndours below. They growled and barked at Nick who was defenseless after noticing that his Pok?balls weren?t in his pockets. He resorted into climbing a tree to avoid the Houndours? painful attacks.

?This is bad?? He muttered to himself. ?Michelle or Jeremy might not even notice that I?m missing. I bet they?re having a good time?? A smirk surfaced on Nick?s face even though he was in danger. ?My sister is already grown up??

??Nick!? Michelle called from the distance. ?Nick, where are you??

    ?Wait, is that them??

    ?Nick?? Jeremy?s voice followed.

?I?m right here!? Nick yelled. ?Be careful! There are Houndours here!?

?Houndours?? Nick heard Jeremy ask Michelle. Michelle replied explaining that they are much like Poochyenas in Hoenn, but breathe fire.

    ?We?re coming Nick! Hang on!?

?I am already hanging on to a tree you know!? Nick yelled. He then heard footsteps, which exited him. He knew that it was Michelle and Jeremy. Then, he heard the sounds of Pok?balls being opened and the growls of Pok?mon.

Within that darkness that shrouded them, he saw a blinding light. He saw a tall, white and green Pok?mon with slim and slender arms overlooking at the Houndours. Next to the lonely looking Pok?mon was a tall, blue turtle Pok?mon with cannons from the back and pointed towards the Pok?mon.

    ?Hydro pump!?

    ?Shock wave!?

Nick saw water rushing out from the cannons of the Blastoise. It blasted the growling Houndours away but some remained. The rest were finished off with a powerful electric blast from the Gardevoir.

Soon, the Houndours retreated yelping in pain and in terror. Nick climbed down from the tree, happy to meet his sister once more.

?Thanks guys!? He exclaimed. ?And I thought you guys weren?t going to rescue me because you were both busy doing something else?? Nick snickered.

Michelle was about to pounce at Nick but then noticed that Jeremy was smiling. Instead, she took out Nick?s Pok?balls and shoved them into his hand. ?You shouldn?t leave you Pok?mon no matter what!? She muttered to him.

Nick smiled. ?Oh well, let?s go back then!?

Nick was leading the way and Michelle and Jeremy were both trailing behind him. Michelle yawned and looked at Jeremy. A wave of nostalgia surrounded her like a soft, warm blanket. She moved closer to him and felt warmth inside her.

Jeremy looked at her and smiled. He noticed that he?d grown tall over the years. Before, he was always the shortest of the three. Now, he was virtually taller than Michelle and matching Nick?s height. ?You?ve changed so much??

?Huh? How?? Michelle asked him. She spoke softly and silently.

Jeremy sighed. ?Well?I?ll tell the truth. I think you?ve grown beautiful??

Michelle blushed as she heard this. She looked down immediately. ?Thank you?? She whispered.

    ~*~*~*~

Michelle woke up and realized that it was the middle of the night. The stars still remained in the sky and a beam of light just flashed by and then disappeared. She stared at the sky for a few seconds and saw that beam of light pass by again. She sat up and realized that she slept on the beach, her brother some few feet away from her. The smoldering embers of the campfire were slowly lifted up and then flew with the wind.

She noticed that the beam of light that kept passing her every few seconds was the lighthouse. She looked around her and noticed that Jeremy was awake. He was sitting, facing the placid sea, and overlooking the reflection of the moon?s rays and feeling the soft, brisk gale of the ocean breeze. She stood up slowly and steadily and walked towards Jeremy. She sat next to him and looked over at the peaceful ocean.

?The sea reminds me so much of my mother?? Jeremy sighed. ?She used to live near the beach and she always plays with me even though she was sick?and dad would be there, too.? He then looked at her. ?Michelle,?

    ?Huh??

?Do you think?do you think I?ll get my dad?s disease soon?? He asked her firmly and straightforward. ?And do you think I?ll die young??

?No. I don?t think so. You don?t look sick!?

Jeremy sighed and looked at the stars above. ?While I was at the ship, going here, your parents called me and told me that my dad was confined again??

?He?s sick again?? Michelle asked. ?But mom and dad told me that he?s not going to be sick again!?

?I don?t know?? Jeremy replied. ?My dad was always sick. I think that I?ll get sick like him someday?? He said solemnly.

?Don?t say that!? She quickly faced him and got his attention. ?You?re not going to get sick! You won?t die like your mom! Neither will your dad!?

Jeremy smiled. ?Thank you, Michelle. You?ve always been a great friend to me.?

Michelle smiled, too. She laid her head on Jeremy?s shoulder as both of them looked at the peaceful ocean, reflecting the rays of the moon. ?I don?t want to be just a friend, Jeremy?? She whispered softly. ?I don?t want you to die. I want to?I want to be with you?forever??

Jeremy placed his arm around her. ?Thank you?? He whispered back. ?I promise you won?t be just a friend??

    ?Do you really promise?Jeremy??

    ?I do. I promise?and we?ll be happy together??
