Guys, enough of Kanto, you've seen that in Gen I, Gen II, and in the Gen II remakes. I think it's finally time that we've forgot about Kanto. If you really want Kanto that badly, then play the old Gen I games or HG/SS. I do not mean any offense by this, but it's time that Kanto be left alone now. The same can be said for Johto. Hoenn? It's really unlikely.

Give me something new instead of something old that you've managed to just revamp a bit. Some of us have been through it, and its nothing new to us, so its time we've actually got something new. :(

it's remakes in Gen 3
Gen 2 remakes in gen 4
i hate kanto- it's dry
if they insist on adding an extra area, they should make up some small island, maybe with 4 gyms- that's it

It'd be really awesome if you could like map it out as you go through this new unexplored place and find people who are suited to living life without knowing how advanced everything has gotten down in Isshu. Maybe even like uncivilized cavemen... although that seems too much of a stretch for even Pokémon games. ):

I agree about the extra exploring place :) Perhaps you gain permission to go through caves in one direction or another to get to new areas (Or unlocking a New HM-thing after the main story is over).

Including the Orange Islands would be a bad idea, however they could use the principle of the alternative battles so that you get to do something different once Isshu is mostly finished.

I do hope the main focus is the Isshu region, the other bits should be minor (adding very little gameplay at the end) however I think the story should be more about exploring/looking for things rather than being driven simply by another team that wants to control/end the world.
 
Well I expect Hoenn will appear in remakes during 5th Generation so no point in including Hoenn.
Maybe Sinnoh or Seviis. Kanto has been in all four Gens to date so it's kind of played out even though it's my favorite region.
 
We seriously need Hoenn back. We already have Johto and Kanto in HG/SS and God knows no one wants to revisit Sinnoh.
 
This thread reminds me of this one.

If there was to be another region featured, I can't really think of one that I would like or that hasn't been done already. Sinnoh's too recent (plus, I didn't care much for it) and Kanto and Johto were redone in HG/SS. That leaves Hoenn but honestly, I'd rather have an entire remake dedicated to it than to have it be part of some crappy post-Elite Four subplot. And, as I mentioned in my post in the above thread, the same goes for Orange Islands. I'm not really familiar with any of the other regions (e.g., the ones in the spin-off games).
 
I forgot all about the Orange Islands. It would be nice to see those in this game, as well.
 
Looking at it from a technical viewpoint, I don't think it'd be possible without raising the price of the game by a lot. Already, we have full 3D cities and animated battle sprites, not to mention roughly 100 to 110 new Pokémon. D/P/Pt/HG/SS might have been able to get away with stuffing it into about 512 MB because it's 2.5D, but this will probably be a much larger game, making it economically foolish to put in another region in full 3D as well.

However, technical logistics aside, MOAR KANTO. We already have a streak of it being in each generation thus far; let's not break it.
 
As much as I love hoenn, I dont want it to be in Black & White. Hoenn deserves its own game, if it were to be in Black & White I fear that it will take away from the Isshu region. Maybe they will add in some new region, or islands kinda like the sevii islands.
 
I don't mind a region being missing from a generation, just so long as it's available on the same device. On DS, we already have Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh, so the only region missing is Hoenn, which will probably come in the form of a remake. So, I'm gonna vote that no extra region should be added.
 
I'd trade a Colloseum/XD:GoD remake for a R/S/E remake anyday. I like Hoenn, but Colloseum/XD were more fun for me.
 
Isn't everyone satisfied with the existing regions?

If Isshu is going to be connected to any region I want it to be another completely new region. I know wanting more than one region per generation is probably asking too much, but I don't want to go back when I can keep going forward.
 
theyre not going anywhere, or they wouldve gone somewhere already in the main games besides Gold/Silver. although, if they did decide to do it, i wouldnt mind seeing Orre.

I agree with you we should just ask GF to focus on this region and making it big and creative with lot's of environments rather than waste time making a already existing region in BW form plus Hoenn will return in my all so desired remakes where it will shine by itself just like I desire Isshu to shine by itself.
 
I think the game would be better if it just focused on the new region, with no connections to other regions.

But if I had to choose, probably the Hoenn region, because we haven't been there in a while. We just got Johto in HGSS, Kanto was there also. And Sinnoh we just had.

I would like some throwbacks to them, ie the occasional person who lived or trained in another region mentions its name when you talk to them, but otherwise? Let this be a brand new experience. Very brief cameos are okay but the emphasis should be on the new region, not nostalgic old regions which, tbh, aren't all that nostalgic anymore because they've been released or revamped so recently.

I want these games to totally stand alone. D:

magma you're as right as ever. if any region that the plane will fly to it will be Hoenn. Hoenn's remake will more than likely be coming in this gen so it's only expected...and yeah Kanto needs to recupirate for a few gens before comin' back XD.

true, true. this is what they'll probably do with Isshu at first, but if an RSE remake will come then Isshu will be linked to Hoenn around that time or vice versa.

Just a thought...

What if, since Isshu is like in the middle of nowhere, you took a plane, instead of a boat to other regions! You know no S.S. Anna or S.S. Aqua. Maybe you take like an air bus and you go somewhere else. Instead of finding someone you would have to help the pilots or the waiters? Not sure it's just a thought!
