I'd have to go with the gyms here. Contests don't really interest me, dressing up Pokémon and making them dance isn't my idea of fun.

I'm not too fond of contests. That could just be because I've never done very well in them, though... :I But I love the victory music after defeating a Gym Leader, and gyms are pretty cool these days in terms of puzzles and general layout. :>

I dont really like contests. I like Gen. III contests better than Gen. IV. The dressing up part is kinda fun but dancing part. No I dont like it. Unlike Gen. II where all you had to do was perform you move and be rated on how cool or tough (etc.) you pokemon looks. I liked those contests better.

But overall I like gyms. I love battling and lvling up pokemon.

I say contests. Because you can show off to a lot more people that way. Yes they have battle as part of them in the show, but I like to show peopleour talent.

I prefer Gyms. If nothing else, the anime has taught us that there will be more drama with rivals in Contests than with the gym route. Plus the gyms would be more useful in training my army of Pokemon to be killing machines.

There's nothing particularly ~artistic~ about dressing up a captive creature in humiliating clothes and making them prance for an audience. It has nothing to do with love - I'd wager in the Anime that Ash cares equally about his Pokémon in Battling as Dawn cares about hers in Contests. -.-;

Anyway, I prefer Gym Battles. I tried doing a couple of Contests and they were a bit fun, but I just felt embarrassed for my Pokémon all the way through. There's something not right about an Empoleon with a bright pink bow on its head trying to perform the Macarana to out-dance a Jigglypuff. (In Ping Pong, on the other hand, he looked wicked cool.)

I prefer battles. And they may get hurt battleing, but it's never really anything serious. I agree with Moriarty about it being embarassing for pokemon as well as the trainer

When I am bored, I pick contest. I would want to challenge in a gym if I wanted to earn badges or any other rewords.

Gyms. Contests seem really boring and I hate all that fancy stuff. I'd rather watch Charizard beat the crap out of a Pidgey.

Ideally though, I would pick neither. I would like to just live with my Pokemon.
