4th Gen Cresselia the ball buster...

Lol yeah I do have crazy amount of luck in this game. I just checked my friends Cresselia that I'm holding for her while she restarts, and looks like she caved, her is in a master ball lol. It was the same for Mesprit with me, only a few ultra balls after it fell asleep. I didn't realise they were supposed to be hard to catch lol.
Using my Scizor, I have false swiped both Mesprit and Creselia to 1 hp, but none have status changes. Sleep seems to do the best, so I might train up a Paras, evolve it to a Parasect, train it to an insanely high level, and EV train it for speed since Parasect learns the BEST sleep inducing move, Spore, and I'd like to use it before it runs. Shroomish learns it too, but it takes longer for Shroomish. With Spore, I can guarantee a hit. I just don't like other sleep inducing moves. All are just pretty inaccurate. Sleep Powder is 75% accurate, Hypnosis 70%, Sing 55%, Grasswhistle 55%, Dark Void 80% ( I don't got a Darkrai, but it's still a sleep inducing move that's inaccurate), Lovely Kiss 75%, Yawn 100% (but pretty useless since Cresselia will run before it takes effect) Compare all that to Spore which is 100% accurate. Gotta be careful tho. Parasect has a type advantage.

That's crazy then !! I used my Kricketune. I use her for catching all pokemon as it's knows False Swipe. First battle I put her to sleep using Sing. I didn't realise it has such bad accuracy. And she ran. Next battle false swipe. Next time realised I should trap her, used Block, chucked a Quick ball and she was in.

- False Swipe Cresselia down to 1 HP
- Put it to sleep using whichever move. Crobat works: high speed + Mean Look + Hypnosis = great runaway-Pokemon catcher.
- Quick Ball / Dusk Ball

Quick Ball has a x4 catch rate when used in the first 5 turns of the battle. Dusk Ball is x4 effective at night. x4 effectiveness is the strongest type of PokeBall besides Park Ball / Master Ball and some GSC balls. Quick Ball is your best bet.

Put it to sleep, don't paralyze it. Sleep has a 10 in effectiveness, while paralyze has only 5.

In other words, just keep throwing Quick Balls or Dusk Balls at it. Mean Look / Block does come in handy, as does Wobbuffet.

Here's a trick that always works for me: QUICK BALL.
Press A lots.

Also, the more you use the same ball the better the catch rate.. If you keep alternating it'll never work. Stay on one ball like a hobo on crack.
