Crime & Punishment (PG-14)

Just as Tommy was 2 inches away from the Arcanine, it vanished and hit him from behind the same way it had done before.

"Hang in there, Tommy!"

Dammit. This guy's too fast. I see Tommy's doing his best to keep up with its speed, but I don't think he's gonna be able to endure this anymore.

"Tommy, try another Cross Chop!"

But the same thing happened. Tommy got up even more bruised than before, and he began to grit his teeth.

"Choke...choke..." he said, tired and hurt.
"Come on, buddy, you can do it!"

Then I had a flashback. A flashback from right before I got Tommy...

I was hiding behind some trash cans in an alley behind a bank when I spotted one of the mobsters who killed my parents with his Machoke in that alley.

"Machoke, use Bullet Punch!" the mobster commanded and the Pokémon punched the wall so fast it broke, and the mobster sent his Pokémon into his Pokéball and went into the hole that Machoke had made. When he got out, he was carrying big bags full of cash...

I saw him trying to cross the alleyway, probably to get to his car. I picked up some big rocks nearby...and threw them at his feet, which made him trip over...I picked up a crow bar and began to approach him as he tried to get back up...and cracked his skull before he could make it.

"...I'm gonna take this...just like you took my parents away from me..." I said, taking his Pokéball and his gun. Then I got the hell outta there.

"I know! Tommy, use Bullet Punch!"

Tommy hit the Arcanine before it had time to vanish. But it didn't seem to be very hurt from Tommy's attack.

Uh-oh...This will be a really long battle...

"The two I killed played a part in my past and when i killed them they were trying to hurt a little girl so they deserved it. The reason I have Flare and Blade is because I love them with all my heart and without them I'd be alone" Keana answered with a small smile.

"Flare! Flare" Blade said nuzzling against Estelle's hand.

"I see Blade likes you. Dagger isn't as social as Blade is but love them both anyway. And not everyone has to fight with weapons. If fighting with Pokemon is what you do best don't let anyone tell you different" She added with a smile.

"Tommy, use Bullet Punch once more!" I commanded, but as Tommy was about to hit Cell, it countered with Extremespeed, sending him flying into the air. It then used his combination of Teleport and Body Slam, and hit Tommy from behind and made him hit the floor very hard.
Cell teleported back to the Arena, and didn't seem tired at all...

This guy's too strong for Tommy...I don't think he can make it...I should surrender...

But all of a sudden, Tommy got up, and looked really pissed. He went berserk and hit Cell with a powerful Revenge attack, without me telling him anything. Cell used Fire Blast, but Tommy dodged it and hit him with...Cross Chop! I couldn't believe my eyes. I had never seen Tommy this way in any battle.

"Good job, Tommy!" I said happily

But he didn't listen, and hit Cell by surprise with a Bullet Punch. Cell began to look more damaged, and Tommy began to tire out. Cell hit Tommy with Extremespeed, but then Tommy hit him back with another Revenge attack, which hit the Arcanine pretty hard too. But after this...Tommy began to have difficulties standing up...this rampage had taken a lot of energy out of him.

"Choke...Ch-choke..." he said gasping, menaing "Too tough...Guy's t-too tough..."

"Try to stay up, Tommy! Concentrate on dodging his attacks!"

Cell vanished again and appeared behind Tommy, and hit him again with Body Slam...which knocked Tommy over...With a lot of effort, he got up...but strangely sparks began to appear around his body...

Oh, no...It can't be...He's...paralyzed? Just what I needed...Sigh...

The Arcanine, after paralyzing Tommy with its Body Slam, hit him again with Extremespeed, but Tommy couldn't move because of his condition.

Oh, no...This time I've lost...Tommy has almost no chance of winning...

Cell hit again, with Extremespeed, and I thought Tommy would not attack and then the Arcanine would hit him with one of its powerful moves and knock him out. But surprisingly, Tommy could hit it with another Revenge attack. This time it seemed to do more damage to Cell, as it was knocked to the ground.

What the...? Oh, right. It must be that ability I read about: Guts.

"Good job, Tommy, now try to him it with Bullet Punch!"

Despite his paralysis, Tommy could move and hit the Arcanine, but then it looked at its trainer and began to beat up Tommy with a Return attack, and when it stopped, Tommy was on the ground again. He tried to get up, but he knew he wouldn't defeat Cell and dropeed to the ground, unable to battle anymore.

"You did good, Tommy, come back" I said sending him back to his Pokéball. Then I turned to the girl "Wow, your Arcanine is no ordinary one. Good match."

I felt a little sad that I lost, but that sadness vanished in a second. From the beginning I knew I would lose, that the Arcanine was a superpowered one. And I felt really proud of Tommy, he did his best to win the match, and in spite of the fact that he didn't win, he landed some good hits on Cell.

I left the arena to let the next one have his battle. I went to where the others were, and sent out my injured friend Tommy. Then I used one of my Super Potions on him, making him feel a little bit better.
"Choke..." he said disappointed.
"Don't worry, Tommy. We'll become stronger and you will overpower that Arcanine."
"Chokechoke!" he responded excited, and his frown turned into a grin.

OOC: Scythe battle next... guess who is gonna be fighting her [You'll never see it coming!!!]

Sarah Goodwin/Cell/John Fratelli/Scythe:

Cell had won, and Sarah was coming up to her "Good job cell" she said, throwing herself on top of Cell affectionately. After a moment she got off of Cell and looked towards Tommy and his trainer, "Good battle" she said, "I've had Cell for twelve years now, ever since she was an egg and that has been one of the best battles i've ever seen her in" she said cheerfully.

John had watched all this impassively, but now Sarah turned her attention to John, "So, are you going to train with Scythe now, or should I get Amp to train with her" she said. John looked at Scythe, "Time to train" he said, answering Sarah's question as Scythe took a position on the field.

Soren looked like a torpedo as he zoomed through the sky. The way that Sky said it would be over was a bit ridiculous. I didn't win eight badges for nothing you know. It wasn't like Brave Bird was going to defeat Snipe completely. Drapions were well versed in Physical Defense, so it wasn't anything to worry about even if the attack had high power. Sniper would be able to take it. But what worried though was what was going to happen afterwards.

Soren had met the blue-green barrier of safety that surrounded Sniper on all sides. It began to crack and I cursed just a bit. Protect wasn't that reliable after the first or second use and of course my luck was horrible. At least though, it bought me some time to think of a counter attack. Sky was already controlling the battle and if it went any longer like this I was going to lose. The rolling dust had given me an idea. Because of all the battling, the dirt on top of the field had began to soften and it seemed good enough for me too use. This'll work for sure, plus if Soren managed to avoid it, there was always the backup plan.

"Sniper use the ground as a way to defend and attack with the help of Iron Tail and speed it up!" I commanded. Sniper activated Iron Tail faster than it did before. It was something that Sniper learned how to use, make the Iron Tail activation a little bit slow at first and then speed it up once they got use to it. With the glowing tail, Sniper began to spin it. Her tail met the ground, picking up dust and other dirt like particles. The particles soon become a brown dirt tornado that had begun to fend off Soren in his Brave Bird pursuit. There was one more precautionary measure to take.

"Sniper, get a Poison Fang ready we need the second line of defense until we can get Protect back up again!"

Sniper's two pincer like claws began to glow with a purple light. She brought it out to the side, as if she was about to hug something or someone.

I was feeling really tired after the battle. My eyes were rolling to the back of my head and I needed to get some sleep as quickly as possible. I didn't want to fall asleep in the chairs, so I walked clumsily towards my room and in about five minutes I reached it.

"Choke..." Tommy said yawning. He looked really tired too.

"Okay, Tommy, get some rest" I said sending him back to the Pokéball and walked up to my bed, dropping on it. I didn't even bother to cover myself with the sheets, I just wanted to sleep. Soon my mind began to show me illogical stuff and I realised I had fallen asleep at last.

ZZZ...zzz...
