And yeah, Crystal is like the most popular game ever, pretty sure.
 
They were super dynamic rather lengthy; they had more frames than the Gen III/IV moving sprites. They're very charming and have a lot of character. Love Raikou's:

I'll never forget the amazement I had as a child when I started playing the game and noticed the sprites were different. At that point in time, Crystal was definitely my favorite game.
 
absolutely 39034% agree. crystal sprites are my favorite and lol i almost wanna play through it again just bc it would make me put crystal sprites in my sig to show off my team. they're just like??? aesthetic??? ya know???
