So I got a question to ask, but more of a question that a problem, but that wasn't my point. I just figured out after an hour of trying that I wasn't allowed to use HTML on my signature. The code i was putting for a while was HTML code.

The words show, but not the image background. It was a problem of mine, and I was just curious.....is it the code that I typed wrong or just the HTML rule that doesn't allow it? Correct me if I am doing something wrong. (words r white and background dark just to let u know, my profile is black background and the words show)

It's possible to use CSS for posts and signatures here, just not HTML. Can you copy and paste everything in your signature and surround it by [CODE][/CODE] tags?

html isn't allowed :P. In the edit signature page, look closely, and you'll see that it says:
    Allow Basic BB Code Yes
    Allow Color BB Code Yes
    Allow Size BB Code Yes
    Allow Font BB Code Yes
    Allow Alignment BB Code Yes
    Allow List BB Code Yes
    Allow Link BB Code Yes
    Allow HTML No
    Allow Image BB Code Yes
    Allow Code BB Code Yes
    Allow PHP BB Code No
    Allow HTML BB Code No
    Allow Quote BB Code Yes
    Allow Smilies Yes
Can Upload Images for Signature Yes
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature Yes

But of course CSS BBCode is allowed. If you know HTML, then you should know CSS HTML, which is close to CSS BBCode. A quick lesson would get you on the right road cause you alreadt know HTML i think :(

I already knew what, since I look at the down left corner and realize HTML wasn't allowed, so that's when I looked at the code and realized it was HTML. But no, I only know about HTML and nothing about anything else. Why? I read this page and experimented on it.
As for the tweaking and code wraps...I am going to try that now.

I tried, and the code works, but not the picture. Now that I think about it, I think I'm doing everything wrong. How do you do the signature like....well, with the background images and words that when you place your mouse over them, explain stuff: example:
Place the mouse over the word pair, and your pair's name appears. Thats what I am trying to do. Since I only know HTML codes, does anyone know anything else since I'm just a beginner?

that'd be an SCD tag :P. I've never tried scd in bbcode, only html, so i can't explain it really. sorry, google bbcodes, and you should figure it out :P

That's actually using the following BBCode tag: [title="words you want in floating text box"]text you want text box to appear over[/title]

    Example:

text you want text box to appear over

However, you're still doing the background-image part of the BBCode CSS wrong if your picture's not showing up. You need single quotation marks around the picture URL, not double quotes. Check to make sure it's not automatically parsing your image URL as an actual URL.

Another suggestion, that these helpful chaps forgot to tell you, is to go to PC's CSS Help thread if you want to learn more about PC CSS. Its fairly easy to be honest, even I, who only knows very basic HTML, have learned how to use it; just not, what I would call, "professionally".

note: btw, that CSS Help thread phrase directs you to the thread itself. it may not be noticeable because of my font. or it may be, idk.

Thanks, it helped me a bit, now I'm going read on it. It helps a lot. Thanks Zeffy.

Update: I figured it out after reading the post over, and realized that a detail was all I had to change. Thanks...you can close this.
