Customizable Characters

Hey, I'm new so I don't know if this has been mentioned before but don't you think it would be cool if we could customize or characters in the pokémon games :)

Me too! ^_^ My brother and I have always thought about this idea too =D We still also think (and dream) about how pokemon might become virtual reality one day (but we'd be long gone by then XD)

It would be amazing if we could customize our characters! :D I thought about this a long time ago (back in when they first introduced a female heroine in Crystal), and I would love it if they implemented it. I think they might at least somewhat--like customizable clothes and hair between a few different choices--in future generations.

Even picking a trainer class would be enough for me. Just something more than Boy 1 or Girl 1.

I like the idea. I could customize my character to make it have cool looking clothes! I could also change the female looks a bit. :D

Yes, I would love that! I've always wanted that! Maybe we'll see it next gen since it's supposed to "revolutionize" the series.

I think that since the games are moving forward to a new generation and a more powerful system with the 3DS, a customizable character should be one of the first things that is added to the new games. I have always thought that creating your own character should have been an option, even since the GBA games.
However, I don't know if this will happen, but I do believe that we will be able to change the character's clothes (at the very minimum, the colours of them) in the new games.

Since the next gen will most likely be released on the successor to the DS, hardware that will undoubtedly have 3D rendering power at least on par with the N64, I can imagine having the functionality to design various aspects of the player character from their face to their clothes, to perhaps even their height and build.

It will be nonsensical if GF continue to fail to implement this in the 5th gen. The fans are unanimous in support of it, and I can't think of a single reason not to do it.

Yeah, it would be cool. Also like some-one else said, it would be great to be able to select which class you would be in like 'School-kid' or 'Clown' or something.

It would of course be fantastic to customise you're appearence (it would mean multiple sprites for everything though). That's why in my hack there will be a shop where you can change your overworld sprite's clothes (battle sprite dosn't change though).

Umm I thought they announced that it will be for this generations DS(DS,DS Lite,DSi,DSi XL).

I'll believe that once I actually see a trailer or screenshots from the game. I hate to be the cynic, but they've only just revealed Zorua and Zoroark, if they release the game at the end of the year, it'd be the fastest it's been to develop a pokemon game ever.

Especially so considering that there was a three-year gap between Munchlax's revelation and D/P's release, the two years between Kecleon's reveal and R/S's release.

i seriously wonder why GF dosen't try this idea out... i'd buy Pokemon Games more often if they did.

They probably have thought of it, but I can see them think it too much work and too hard to implement with everything else.

It seems that Nintendo likes the originally boy with the red clothes an hat as well as the girl with the... Umm i not sure what the girl looks like cause I never select it
