It saddens me that life these days seems so... throwaway? Perhaps not the right term, but at least the right sense. I believe that every life is worth something, and one person killed is one too many. These people may have accepted the risk, but it doesn't mean it's alright to kill them.

And yet, the day the communists and the Canadians decided to invade, you are going to beg for the military to do something.

But we won't do anything because it is a waste of human lives.

I just seriously don't believe in war but, as Black_Wolf pointed out, we need to protect ourselves. =/

I live in Australia. Why would the Canadians invade?

Yeah, because that's exactly what Canadians tend to do: Just go out, and blindly decide to invade other countries..right..

Um..wanna let me know when the last time Canada started an invasion was? XD

I rather go out with a BANG!, not a whimper...

Geometric-sama

Then you only have to worry about the commies and every crocodile mounted with machine guns and Kangaroos strapped with explosives from taking over the major cities.

that's part of their battle plan: Lay low for over 200 years, and BAM, take over a country. nobody would see that coming.

By the Flying Spaghetti Monster, you're crazy. Do you really believe what you're saying?

The Canadian has airplanes too you know.

Jordan.

Dude..the Canadian military consists of like, a Moose, a Carribou, and a hockey league..WTF? How did they even get brought into this? XD

Canada is seriously..the last thing anyone needs to bring into a war scenerio..xD

Technically the 1st World War as "Canada automatically entered with Britain's declaration of war". (Wikipedia)

Jordan.
I never knew that Canada had actually been to war XD
Canada just seemed too peaceful to be at war IMO

I hate the war thats happening in Iraq, its a friggin oil war!

True. Our new and much more manly Prime Minister has pledged to bring Australian troops home from Iraq by mid-next year, about which I am pleased.

I'm not going into detail here. But you really have to see it from a soldier's point of view to really understand this war.

Hmm I'm curious to see what you mean, would you mind to elaborate?

Though, you must know that major oil companies pay politicians millions of dollars to keep oil the main source of energy in our economy. We do have alternative energies to use in cars if that was an issue, but we insist on fighting a war on "terrorism" they say. They say they want Iraq to form a democracy, but they don't realize that us going in there and trying to make them a democracy completely defeats the point of democracy!

Sorry didn't mean to rant or sound angry =P

Lol, Canada at war? Sure, we do have an army and stuff (currently in Afghanistan? Oh god I need to read the news more often), but we... don't do the whole declare war thing. :|

We did go to war in WWI and II, as well as helped out in other things. I think. XD;

It's too complex to elaborate. I'm a Marine, I do as I'm told, and I don't let my personal beliefs get in the way. I guess the satasfaction of liberating people is great, just like the devil dogs before me did.

But that's just me.

Moose, caribou, hockey players, kangaroos with C4 in their pockets, and crocodiles with M60s strapped to their backs. Right.

Infantry weapons? Canada and Australia share the Browning Hi-Power as their service pistol; the Australian SAS Regiment has adopted the Heckler & Koch USP, while the Canadian Joint Task Force 2 uses the SIG-Sauer P226. Australia's service rifle is the Steyr AUG, while Canada's is the Diemaco C7. Both armies use the Fabrique Nationale M249 and MAG and the Browning M2 as their machine guns. I'm not familiar with Canadian sniper rifles aside from the McMillan TAC-50, but I do know that the Australians use the Knight's Armament Company SR-25 and the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare family of rifles.

Concerning tanks, both Canada and Australia used the Leopard 1 until recently; Australia replaced its Leopard 1s with M1 Abrams, while Canada is in the process of acquiring Leopard 2s. Other armor and artillery are more or less on par with the American standard.

In the realm of aircraft, both Australia and Canada use the F/A-18 Hornet; the Royal Australian Air Force is noteworthy in that it is the only export user of the F-111 Aardvark. Both air arms are expected to acquire F-35 Lightning IIs over the next ten years.

:P

nah, but on a more serious note
I may not approve of the war in Iraq. I can't claim to know the circumstances and pros/cons to the fullest extent. I can't make a fair judgement
But what I do know is that it angers me when people say they don't like the troops
As stated by Black_Wolf...when you're in the military, you do what you're told as good as you possibly can. You don't question your authority, you just do your best to serve your country. I have great respect for that
Even someone like me who grew up in a Mennonite household [know for their strict anti-war stance] can see what a service they do.
Even if it's for Canada :P haha

Wow.

You know about Australia's airforce army and whatnot then I do.

Even though I never bothered to find out about this stuff.

Unless it's all been wiki'd?
