With the release of Dark Explorers this month I've been trying to build a Water-Darkness deck almost exclusively built from this set, save for the obvious necessities. All are from this release unless otherwise noted. Without further ado:

    Pokemon:
    3x Krookodile
    1x Krokorok
    3x Sandile
    3x Empoleon
    1x Prinplup
    3x Piplup
    2x Zoroark
    3x Zorua (Ascension, 69/108)
    2x Sableye
    1x Swanna
    2x Ducklett
    1x Tornadus EX
    Sub-Total: 25 Pokemon (14 Basic)

    Trainer:
    4x Rare Candy
    4x Energy Search
    4x Pokemon Communication
    4x Cheren
    2x Dark Claw
    2x Dark Patch
    2x Random Receiver
    2x Cilan (not DE)
    2x Energy Retrieval
    2x N
    Sub-Total: 28 (8 Supporter)

    Energy:
    10x Darkness
    6x Water

    Total: 69

So this clearly needs work. Nothing is truly sacred and all card totals can be increased/decreased within reason. Your input would be greatly valued.

Out with the 10 water types you have. In goes 1 more Zoroark. Replace 4 of those water energy with 4 Special Dark energy, and replace the other two with more basic Dark energy. Legal number of cards achieved! Focus on using Zoroark's Brutal Bash attack. It's quite powerful if done right. Replace all 4 Energy Search with 2 Pokemon Collector and 2 Cilan.

Thanks for the tips. I was feeling the empoleon line was fairly weak so this is an awesome addition. One question sill however; what might you think would be an alternative to the pokemon collector and cilan in the few weeks it takes for cards to be delivered?
