I am going to a dark explorers prerelease next weekend and i would
Like a strategy for it. I am looking for the following information: 1. Any good cards I should loo for 2. Do I get card sleeves or a deck box? 3. any ratio on about how many ex' you get per 8 booster packs.
4. A ratio of pokemon, energies, and trainer cards in a deck
5. Anything else I should know

1. There's probably a few, but I've not really looked into the set, myself, since I've been kinda busy.

2. You do not get card sleeves or a deck box. Unless you win your way into winning one.

3. There are no official ratios on EXs, but based on recent sets, there's likely to be only one every 36 packs.

4. This depends on what you're running.

5. There are two different types of event formats for the prereleases. One is a Theme Deck event (where you get a theme deck from the set and play with that). The other is a Sealed Booster event, where you get several packs of cards and build a deck from that.

I'd suggest emailing the event host if you have any further questions about their particular prerelease. I've never actually been to a set prerelease for the Pokemon TCG, myself (though I have been to several MtG prereleases).

You do actually get a plastic deck box that you fold up yourself, at least I've always gotten them since they discontinued sleeves. You should bring a few sleeves to keep whatever good cards you pull in good condition, and if you think you might play any ex's you pull then bring 40 sleeves for the deck. You generally want to put every trainer you get into your deck, unless you get one that absolutely can't do anything. There isn't a pull-ratio for individual packs, there is one for the box but what you are getting from it is random. Good cards to look for would be darkrai ex, dark claw, dark patch, and of course any other ex's are going to be valuable as well.

I'd say that given the overwhelming dark support in this set, you probably just want to hope you can get either the dark rush zoroark or a darkrai ex and a few dark patches if you're trying to win the tourney. Although any EX with the exception of Raikou will probably just win you the tourney overall since they'll be nearly impossible for most decks to KO without extreme deck synergy on top of pure luck.
