Dawn a good battler?

Yeah I know, i was just saying that because she could become a great trainer! Its just shes gotta be all contesty about it! That part sucks
 
I feel that Dawn is a very good battler for someone who participates in contests. I actually think that she's better than May in contest battles though she is weak in her appeals. It's too bad she released Ambipom though since that was her second strongest Pokémon. If Dawn trains Mamoswine more, it could be compared to May's Blaziken in the powerhouse department.

Wrong. Mamoswine has Rock Slide, which can do a 4X Super Effective to Charizard.
Dawn is weak, she doesn't evolve her Piplup, which could have been a Prinplup by now. To me, Contests are a waste of time. I don't really care on how many Contest Badges Dawn could have. She isn't a Strong Pokemon Trainer. She's totally like, weak!

Dawn didn't evolve her Piplup because Piplup DIDN'T want to. She really wanted Piplup to evolve, but Piplup kept rejecting the evolution.
She, at last, listened to Piplup and gave it an Everstone until it was ready to evolve.
 
Her not evolving her Piplup doesn't make her weak. It was her first pokemon, it means more to her then just a power machine. She is very close to it, its her best friend. She is respecting it's decision and wouldn't change anything about it. It's times like that trainers must look past their bid for more power and think of the pokemon's feelings.

Mamoswine can never beat Charizard, not in hell. Piplup? I practically hate it. It does not want to evolve, and prefers hanging around like a weak and cocky little penguin. If it were to evolve, I think i'll give some respect to it. Dawn releases her Ambipom which is very strong. And her Buneary and Pachirisu are pathetic. I think she was made for only contests.
 
She WAS made for contests. That's why her team isn't that big and strong, like Ash or the league participants.

As for Piplup... it's a penguin. The thing is, can you imagine Dawn with a Emploion (sp?), doesn't really seem right.

Exactly, she doesn't need big and strong pokemon for contests. As long as she has pokemon that contain attacks used for impressing the judges. Thats what Buneary and Pachirisu are for.

Then Piplup is a nooby Pokemon who doesn't want to be stronger, while I was wrong about Dawn is a nooby Trainer.
 
I don't get how it's nooby to not want to be stronger through evolution. Isn't that the exact opposite?

It is nooby. Why? The real Strong Pokemon is those who evolve to be strong. At least that's what I think.
 
I'd say Dawn's a pretty good battler. She went up against Maylene and almost won, and she does well in contest battles.

Seriously though, the concept of Pokemon not needing to evolve to be strong has been in the anime ever since the beginning with Ash and Pikachu's descision to not use Thunderstone they got from Nurse Joy. What you said may be true for the games, but for the show... not so much.

Although Ash has recognised the fact that evolving his Pokemon will make them stronger, they get through their problems of not gaining the strength from evolution from training/friendship and whatever in the anime. Bulbasaur and Squirtle never evolved but they're still strong. In an interview they had with someone (can't remember his name) they said they didn't want Dawn's Piplup to evolve because it's evolutions were too ugly XD

Wow, do you I think even care that how ugly Pokemon is when they evolve? I still think that Trainers who don't evolve Pokemon are weak or how I call a noob. (Especially Ash and Dawn)

If Dawn is made for contests, she shouldn't even attempt on trying to beat Maylene with her noobish Pokemon. (Especially Piplup, who is too cocky and nooby for not trying to evolve.)
 
I suppose they're giving cute Pokemon to Dawn (except Mamoswine XD) and evolving Ash's Pokemon

Yeah, Charizard and Mamoswine are a lot alike. Mamoswine would beat Charizard since Stealth Rock cuts Charizard's health in half and it's Ice Shard would pick it off. Remember, there's no such thing as type advantage. Fourth Generation really hates Charizard, which is why Ash won't use it. :[

As for Piplup, it's baisically the anime's second Pikachu. I'm not too sure about Dawn, but I think Piplup will stay for the 5th generation. Piplup is hated as much as Pikachu for being a glory hog. XD
 
Dawn is definitely not a battler in my eyes. She is better off dressing sexy and showcase herself in the contest only to claim her Pokemon are the stars. You freaking egoistic Piplup, I'M LOOKING AT YOU!

Of course a super sized dragon that melts tripping rocks and flies like a monster can be killed by an extinct mammal that couldn't survive its own ice.
