    [PokeCommunity.com] Day 5: Pokemon RBY Countdown!

    Hosted by curiousnathan and Ludger

    Hello and welcome to First Generation's RBY Countdown! For the next 6 days we will be exploring some of the things that made Pokémon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow such amazing games. Every day will feature a new question to discuss, reminisce and relive the memories that RBGY gave us!

    For day five, which of these cuties do you choose?
    If you are able to choose in between Pikachu and Eevee in the Yellow version, which Pokemon will you pick? Why?

    I'd definitely choose Eevee, because it's adorable and it has a wide variety of potential evolutionary forms! It'd actually make a really good starter in that regard.

    So I think I always tell this story, but here it is again. Yellow was my first game and at the time, Eevee was my favorite Pokemon while Pikachu was my least favorite. So imagine how pissed little Ludger was when he realized that Eevee was for him and not for his rival. :) So basically, I thought the point of the game was to get the Eevee back from your rival...so yeah.

    That being said, obviously I would go with Eevee, haha.

    *Pats Luds* ;;

    He's seriously a jerk for swiping it. What would you evolve yours into? I think I'd go with Vaporeon, myself :)

    Oh, the best part? I got stuck at Brock and lost my cartridge. :) Haha.

    Anyway, back then, I would have gone with Flareon probably, because that was my favorite of the Eeveelutions (I mean, I loved them all, but you know). Nowadays, Jolteon is one of my favorite Pokemon overall, so...you see where I'm going haha. Besides, in Yellow, you do get all the starters. Might as well replaced Pikachu with a Jolteon.

    Oh, if only little Ludger knew that you can still get an Eevee in Celadon...hahaha.

    Eevee all the way! It has a lot more options and is much cuter than Pikachu. Also... I almost ragequit Yellow as a kid when I found out Pikachu couldn't evolve to be honest, hence why I still dislike it. Why can your rival have the cool stuff while you yourself can't? ;-;

    Like Cathy, I'd probably go for Vaporeon.

    Pikachu for me. Even though Pikachu can't evolve into anything decent in Yellow, and has lousy stats, it's still my second-favorite Pokemon. And with the help of Stadium, he can learn Surf, which I always thought was awesome. I chose to stick an unevolved Pikachu on my in-game team in X, so I evidently still like it a lot. Eevee is fine, but I've never been a huge fan of it the way many people are.

    Eevee!!

    I don't really like Pikachu. I love Raichu but I can't have it! D:
    I will buy Pokemon Yellow and for the first time in my life I won't keep the starter. I'm gonna store the Pikachu (sad I know) and make a team I've never done before.

    My Eevee will evolve into Flareon or Jolteon. I love Jolteon for the competitive play, but Flareon is so cute and it's okay for the in-game.

    If I could have had a choice in Yellow, I definitely would have gone with the Eevee on the table in Oak's lab. I was pretty miffed when I played Yellow for the very first time that my rival pushed me over and took the ball from the table. For quite some time afterwards, after I found out that the Pokémon he took was Eevee, I kept wishing there was a way to pre-empt my rival and wondered what the game could have been like with that Eevee in my party.

    Of course, there's the issue with who I would evolve that Eevee into. Whichever Eeveelution I would have chosen probably would have depended on my mood. As much as I think Eevee is adorable, I've never used it on my team in any of the Pokémon games that I've played-mainly because of the difficulty in deciding what to evolve it to.
