DCCF Suggestions

Just make sure you guys have good rules on it and it will be good to go ^___^

omgosh its almost wakeup time in the UK, so we will be getting a lot more input from our European viewers =)

That's the type of system I was referring to, Richie. Only thing is, make it a "mess up once, and face the consequences" type of thing.

No prejudice, Ty. The reason that I propose such a strict system is because of recent serious problem with spam and rude and inappropriate posts in the DCC.

Ehh, maybe so. I think it should be a ban from PC itself though, because right now it seems like we're forming a separate subculture for DCCF people. o_o

I was thinking ban from DCC area plus a temp ban from PC, or at the very least a formal warning.

I thought it was a fine idea when, for a short itme, the DCC was in Funtime o_O

But Funtime is more of a fun-and-games thing, as the name would suggest. o.O

Re-read the first post and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Edit: ...lol. We should stick this thread and name it 'DCCF Chit-Chat'.

I believe in the end, PC has numerous areas that are highly unlike the "motherland". I mean like Webbies, we basically have a whole set of different rules and aspect on things.

I see PC as like China, and WD and DCC like Taiwan and Hong Long ;P

You shouldn't get a ban because you make one mistake o_o we are human

Isn't that what the DCC is as well? Fun and relaxation?

Not necessarily, it's a thread for smaller topics that don't really merit a thread of their own.

They're called subcultures.

Also yeah, but it seems really unlawful to ban someone from just the forum. =\ Plus I'm pretty sure it means yet another usergroup...?

And the forum can be a bunch of threads that don't merit themselves being in another forum. ;X

It may be harsh, Richie, but it might just work. And maybe they could be allowed back into the DCC after a period of time...say, a year or six months.

Ehh if you want a area that doesn't have n00bs than just have a process of hand selection :3

If you took the time to do that, you could really make some killer areas with no n00bs

Problem with the DCC is, though, that it's not the n00bs. It's the veteran PC members that think they can go in there, post whatever they want, and blow it off every time one of the staff warns them.

Oh @ Jorge

That is a LONG time - believe me, I'd know >___>

I'd think it would just be one or two weeks at the most. After the first or second time, then it would probably be time for a temp ban from PC.

I bet ;P hate to see it happen again :\...

But I think that DCC is a time to let and relax, besides who cares if they have a high post count about it. I mean you shouldn't even care (than some might say than why do you care if we took it away)

Personally I like to know how many posts I have accumilated over my time here, so I don't care if they are in a DCC area. A post is a post and I would like to know how many posts I have made at PC for personal safisfaction =)

Even with the rules, the DCC still becomes spammy. =/ No post count, and then a post recount would be ideal.

And a 1/2 week ban would be quite good I'd think... but a month+ is a bit much...

That's the definition of a n00b, isn't it? O_o

Ehh. You could make a banned group without access to DCCF so SMods can ban people with the Mod CP.

yeah guys, let's just destroy the basis of the DCC entirely

~Leave it where it is
~Leave the post count there
~If members are too spammy or whatnot, deal with them like you normally would
~Just leave it alone

Those are my suggestions...if it aint broke, don't fix it--because usually you'll just make it worse

Why do we need to make so many changes for the DCC? What's the big deal? Who cares if people get posts from there? Who gives a crap if you have a big post count??? Is a big post count a threat to PC? Why do we need an entire subforum just for one thread?

I don't know.
