Dead Section: I move that we make this forum visible to more people

Yeah. It's seriously dead in here...which is pretty sad. I'd like to really be able to see this forum really active, perhaps we could implement some rule exceptions in this area or add something in here that we can really draw supporters' posts here with?

Perhaps we could open it up to Tier 2?

I love the idea of this VIP forum but it really needs to be revived. I also think appointing a Moderator of this forum wouldnt be very harmful either, so the admins and s-mods don't have to patrol it once we do get enough people in here to need a mod. :P

It would be pointless to have a mod here since this place is more barren than my bat cave(even if it gets more active). Though I wouldn't mind seeing it open up to tier 2.

Well, if we could get more supporters on the bandwagon, and maybe open this up to tier 2, it'd get a lot more busy. We just need to draw some interest into this forum and maybe get something in here that people want to participate in, like perhaps contests in which you can earn cool supporter-only emblems. :P

The way I see it, leave it as it is. If you want more people to see the forum, encourage them to donate (though the point is donating for the good of the community or whatever). And a mod? What is the point, honestly. Just let the super mods/admins do their jobs.

The moderator suggestion in of itself was not meant to be immediately implemented, but implemented when this forum gets busy enough to need one.

If you did not read all of my opening post then you should know that I created this thread to try to get ideas on how to liven this section up, (in a later post) I even went as far as suggesting that we hold contests for neat little emblems that only supporters can win. Members like emblems and it would get their attention if you could come in here to compete for special emblems.

I didn't mean all emblems. I mean having a few emblems which only supporters can win, by competing in contests held in this forum. We could hold something like a simple forum game or two where an emblem is awarded to the winner.

Isn't emblems only for staff and former staff kinda...too exclusive? There are fewer staff/ex-staff on PC than total supporters. XD

I actually like the idea of supporter-only contests, if only for the shiny emblem. :P

The reason this forum is relatively dead is because anything you put in here, could probably be better suited in other sections of the forum anyway.
The only stuff that gets really noticed is supporter related stuff in here.

Opening up to Tier 2 would be alright I guess.

To be completely honest, I don't understand the point to even having this forum. It's a nice forum and all when you don't have access to it because it has a feeling that it's a top secret forum that you actually can gain access to one day without having to worry about being selected from people you may or may not know, like the staff section. But once you actually gain access to it, it's nothing worth while like most of us thought it would be.

But from what I can tell, it's just Other Chat + Community Questions & Feedback - members who didn't donate = VIP Forum. I just... don't understand the point in that. "Valued input may be required on PokéCommunity-related issues?" I don't see that happening. Most of the decisions and issues regarding PokéCommunity are limited to higher staff, as most of you probably know. Even moderators don't usually know what's going on or being discussed in the Headquarters until it actually happens.

The only thing that makes sense is discussing supporter benefits, suggesting new ones, or maybe even writing off some. And even then, after it's all said and done, that'll go to the HQ where it'll be debated. Some points may be brought back up in that discussion there, but nothing said here will make or break the decision. It may mold thoughts, but that's about it...

So yeah, I don't see the point in this forum as it is. Maybe increasing activity somehow would prove me to be wrong? I dunno. Opening the forum up to more people seems like a good idea to me, though. Then again, I don't think it should be limited to 2 Tier supporters and up, but include all supporters. It's a supporter forum in the supporter HQ. Why limit it to people who put in so much money when some people can't afford to donate $15.00 because of one reason or another?

The forum itself is what you make it out to be. Right now, most supporters neglect it. Maybe encouraging more discussion from the supporters already would prove to be a good thing before it's opened up to more people. That way, when that happens, they won't become too bored. I mean, I know what it's like to have to deal with a dead forum (Other Entertainment, anyone?! :D)... it's frustrating when you actually care about it. And I can tell some of you guys do. Some forums, however, just aren't meant/going to be active because of the nature of them.

Yeah. You've got a point. I certainly wouldn't mind opening this forum up to all supporters either. I suggested tier 2 as a conservative sort of idea. XD

But yeah, I definitely do like this section, and the idea is really great if we can get people interested in it. Yeah, it's too true that the staff has kept a lot locked up in their own HQ, and while that's honestly good for some subject matters, it really isn't for some of the others. x3

This is mainly why I'd like to see the VIP forum find another purpose as well, so we don't end up scrapping it, and I honestly feel like the supporters could be willing to come in droves if we had some sort of compelling discussion here. I think we should sort of take the best of all the top forums, like OC, OVP, Wifi Sections, Art, ROM Hacking, and OT and sort of merge the rulesets and allowed subjects from each and apply it here.
Perhaps we could even create supporter only sub-forum clones within this forum of the ones I listed above, to keep things neat and tidy. Add it to the moderator of the Original section's rounds so Wifi mods get to mod the supporter wifi section, and vise versa, as well and apply their rules within it.

So OT Mods moderate supporter's OT.
ROM Hacking Mods get to moderate Supporter's ROM hacking Discussion forum,
OC Mods moderate the Supporter's OC.
...And vice versa. This arrangement completely surpasses the need to appoint a new moderator for this forum alone, which is certainly a plus for gun-shy staffies who think our current staffing is perfectly fine. :P

I definitely want to see some more diversity within this subforum, so we can sort of have a mini-PC within PC ya know. >P

And for the staff: Actually try to get our opinion? All we give our input is the incoming styles and Audy's half-dead Wi-Fi system. Would be nice if some polls, debates, and randomness from the staff HQs are brought up here.

Even though I already said this in my post, I absolutely agree with this. But with that said, the last part... most of what goes on in the HQ are stuff moderators don't even know about. If higher staff don't mention things going on to moderators, what makes you think they'd include supporters?

I agree, but most supporters don't even offer suggestions anymore. Then again, most suggestions go in the CQ&F, but supporters can always make it so that their suggestions go here if they want. Seeing as how there is a thread on it and it has been done in the past. As for the first official discussion, all supporters should have their usernames written in hot pink!
