Dedenne in the Spotlight

Even though Dedenne is technically Clemont's Pokémon, it clearly has a stronger bond with Bonnie. Since Bonnie is too young to be a proper Trainer, and since Clemont is nice enough to entrust Bonnie with the caring of Dedenne, Dedenne cannot battle and therefore spends a lot of time napping in Bonnie's satchel.

Do you think Dedenne should spend less time napping and more time being more active? What kind of scenes would you like to see Dedenne in? How could Dedenne be improved as a character in general? How do you think Dedenne will play a role in developing Bonnie as a character throughout the current series? Just about anything along the lines of Dedenne is fair game in this thread.

Id like it to be just as lazy but occasionally battle as Bonnie the "trainer"
I have some pics that are really funny in my album of dedenne in the anime they make it out as this lazy little pokemon when its quite powerful but it wants food and attention and not to much work haha. I think Bonnie will most likely either work with mostly cute pokemon or she may end up liking electric types like her brother since she loves the electricity dedenne shows off and doesnt pay as much attention to the fairy type part of it. Dedenne is a powerful pokemon and is slowly showing that off and i really hope it starts to show that off more often and get some credit as a pretty powerful pokemon ;)
I love how dedenne just naps in the satchel and Bonnie closes it dont you think it couldn't breathe maybe? Lol
I want to see mainly a continuation of dedenne in the xy series and hopefully we will see Bonnie as she grows up and one day as a trainer :)
Ik that thats a jumble of words and i probably repeated myself but im tired haha and it was fitting i answer this topic :D

I really don't care what they do with Dedenne because it's in Bonnie's care. The napping thing is a gag and we've seen it be mildly competent in battle against Chespin and TR. what I don't want it to be is another Piplup/Oshawott where they put it in places that take away from the main plot of the episode.

Hear, hear! And what was even worse about the Piplup thing as well as the stuff relating to May's Eevee and Squirtle was that there is a lot of evidence to suggest the writers made them OP (and not in a good way, unfortunately) because of complaints the fans made of Misty's Togepi during Johto. As long as Dedenne doesn't do any stuff that it frankly should not be able to do for little reason other than out of a misguided attempt to make it more active, I don't care what they with it.
